what exactly are you looking for / what do you want to do?
well its going to replace the Yashica (Zoomate 70) that i dropped and smashed (dont worry it was free) (and probably shit anyway) i'm still yet to send the roll off that I shot with it but i want something that is gonna focus reliably, have a flash and be on me as much as possible, also not really looking to spend much as im soon to be buying a D800 for my digital needs/wants.

I love my pentax me if thats any help
one of the smallest 35mm slrs around I think, you only really get aperture priority control, but the 50mm 1.7 that comes with it as standard is a lovely lens
my used to belong to my dad and has been going 30 years or so without any major issues

Fuck yeah.
I've still got the slightly updated modelI've had it since I was 16. Changed batteries twice. Still going strong.

2nd the Nikon FM or FM2, no need for batteries or a nice lil Rollei 35SE with Sonnar lense

I've gone and bought a nice T2 and a nice GR1s today. If the GR1s is actually working I'll hang on to that, as it was such a bargain. If not, I will move it on and keep the T2.
Maybe I will take my MX with me too though, it also has that 50mm 1.7 on it that you talk about, drew87

Yashica T4 Super / T5

Yashica T3 is good, robust, and cheaper than the T4... I have a Contax T2 (well, it's the wires. but I bought it for her!), Leica Minilux, GR1s and a T3... oh and an OM10 SLR but I'm blind as a bat so rely on the compacts to do the focusing for me.
My pref is...
- GR1s - fast light and compact
- T2 - Easy to use and solid
- T3 - Pretty bomb proof and cheap so not precious with it
- Minilux - too scared ot use for fear of breaking
Just IMO, for what its worth, which aint much to be fair..

..there's a nice 40mm 'pancake' pentax-m too that would make it really small.
The 50 / 1.7 use myself and it's lovely, so I'd take that if size doesn't matter too much.well its going to replace the Yashica (Zoomate 70) that i dropped and smashed (dont worry it was free) (and probably shit anyway) i'm still yet to send the roll off that I shot with it but i want something that is gonna focus reliably, have a flash and be on me as much as possible, also not really looking to spend much as im soon to be buying a D800 for my digital needs/wants.
I'd try the mentioned Mju-II for a roll, and sell it again if you don't like it.
Did not have focus problems with it like others on here, it's pretty tough (clamshell design), and I took it with me a lot, as it really fits in your pocket, and doesn't feel like a brick in there. -

I decided I'd just pick up another 50mm 1.7 for my mx, can't wait to get some rolls back!

Ok, random question, but probably the best place to ask. So I've got a big panoramic print that I was forced to roll to get home, which has now developed some frustrating warps. It's pretty good quality photo paper, so hasn't cracked or ridged, but there are some sizeable lumps and bumps that are quite noticeable, which I'd rather get rid of. Anybody got any ideas? I though iron on a really low heat, on the back, from under a tea towel or something?

I'd think about what your going to do with it first, ie will your final mounting solution remove the lumps and bumps anyway?
-
• #7338
I've got a frame that fits, but the clasps on the back aren't exactly perfect, so it's not what I'd call a tight fit. So much so that it's in there with another piece at the moment, and the creases are still showing. I don't really want to fork out for a new frame though, especially considering the strange size, so would rather attack the source and then use my existing frame.

Flush mounted or window?

Window...

get a PH free spray mount and adher it to some foamex or another nice rigid backing board. That should give you an even enough coating to take care of any creases, bumps or ridging...

Ah i hadn't thought about mounting then framing, good call nick, thanks.

Good street work! Leaves so many questions.. what's got her goat? Is she about to get flattened? Where did she get that collapsible seat? etc

^^^ I hear ya. Lovely shot up there, big big fan of curb slumped mattresses.
Yashica Electro 35 never failed me. It's not very compact, but it's less bulky than an SLR width width wise and was very light for it's size.
