No, the B&W stock do not have the remjet backing only the colour stuff. A bit of a bugger to get of as well if you are not careful! Screws up Snappy Snaps machines very effectively. ;o)

Soooo...I've gone through my first roll of 35mm film as an adult! I have a feeling I'm going to need as much help as I can get for them to come out nice. Metro Imaging have been mentioned as well as Silver Print and the Snappy Snaps on Marchmont Street. I just want to get the film (it's colour negative) developed and put on a CD so I can have a wee look before getting them printed. Where's *the *place to go when it comes to quality/value for money?

Eyeculture were mentioned earlier in the thread. Haven't used them myself but have heard good things about them.

UKI use a place on Leyton High, which is ok, not that great. There is a place on Romford Rd that I'm going to check out. It depends on where you are in London I guess.

Cheers, 606. E1 (or someplace relatively central) is pretty much perfect. If you could let me know about the Romford Road one too once you've had something developed there that would great - my parents live Essex way and I ride down Romford Road when I see them.

Been eBay binigng recently: bought a couple of mamiya range finders, and a Zenit 12XPwith good glass, The mamiyas were less than a tenner each and the zenit was £15 posted and is immaculate! I love everything about these old cameras. I have a few Zenits and they just feel so solid and take such nice photographs. My more modern 35mm SLRs are completely redundant now pretty much.

"semi"-succesfully developed a couple of rolls of B&W film last night (well the negatives look like i imagine they should).. I'm going to take one of the developed rolls into to get prints done whilst I scour ebay for an enlarger etc. Think i'm getting the bug, there's something strangely satisfying about being surrounded by chemicals and glassware etc.
On another note, can anyone point me in the direction of a good online guide for using a flash with my slr? So far I have stuck to daylight pics and I have a flash unit but i'm not sure of the best settings etc.

daylight picture are usually the best for flash, don't worry.
as a guide, I usually set flash to f/8 at 1/125 as a general rule of time, unless the subject is further away at says 3 metres, I open the aperture a bit.

What happened to the idea of a forum darkroom?
I think all the threads disappeared in the Great Server Disaster, didn't they?
-
• #693
I resurrected it and it didn't drum up the same enthusiasm. Shame, I'm still keen.
http://www.londonfgss.com/thread32068.html
There was also the option of using the facilities as Greenwich College. The tutor called me and left a voicemail saying it was fine, I called her back and left a VM and that was that. I may chase that up if we don't get the darkroom running.
It sounds as though finding somewhere suitable isn't going to happen sadly.

I'm definitely still up for this
nice - I'm guessing it doesnt have a remjet backing then?
I looked into using colour MP film but the remjet is a pita to get rid of - a lot of the recent developments in film emulsions is spearheaded by demands from the motion picture industry, although I guess as even they start to go digi it will tail off too....
