  • Fresh!
Picking a roll up for the first time in ages tomorrow. Excited!

Loads of great stuff on the blog too, said.

  • Excellent stuff.

  • Superheadz Ultra Wide | Ilford HP5+ | Kodak HC-110 Dil. B | V700

    I like that format somehow.
Though, quality wise, this "superheadz" lens is so far behind the 202..

  • Some great stuff on the blog, especially the street stuff.

(picking up a roll at lunch, fingers crossed there's some keepers on there)

  • Some party snaps from the Mju II:
    http://imdabestmayne.tumblr.com/

  • nice. makes me want your life, sort of.

  • Don't compare your behind-the-scenes to other people's highlight reels etc.

  • at the very least I want your mate's jacket

  • Some black and white stuff up on da blog I can't remember if I showed you it already but its on there anyway! http://seanalexanderfisher.tumblr.com/

  • Few new ones:

Had to push levels a lot on these though. The scans came back with literally nothing but mid-tones, no black or white. Don't have the negs at home to check if it's the scanner, the film or just the shot. Other shots has come out with far better though, at least from a tonal p.o.w

    Few more here

  • Those are top drawer!

    Where's the building?

  • cheers!

It's Oslo Operahouse. Proper brag stuff, big chunk of oil monies swapped for italian marble. Great place though, you can walk around on it and really get a feeling of the building. I'm not that big a fan of it from afar, but when you're standing on the roof it's quite something.

  • All that's marble!?
Holy fuck. Just had a look on Google and you definitely captured its best angles.

  • yep, all marble i think. was a big hoo ha about it when they unveiled it as norway has plenty of beautiful stone themselves

it's not pretty from afar but it's great when you're on it, could easily spend an hour or two on it just shooting

  • afew recentish ones

edit: didn't realise they were so big

  • Here are some photos I have taken recently. I'm pretty new to photography, but enjoying it a lot.

These images were taken on a Canonet QL17 and the films used were Ilford HP4 and Fujicolor C200.

  • This has been a cracking page.

Nefarious - I'm jealous you have a friend like Mr Ferrero Rocher. Must be good to have a willing and semi-serious (but not really) subject. All my friends tend to act like bells in front of the camera. :)

Really like the opera house shots. Just checked it out on google images too and have to agree I'm not overwhelmed by the building itself. You picked out some lovely lines though. Love getting up close to a building and seeing all these things you weren't first expecting to see. Keeps you curious.

That's a handsome woofer, jackc. Looks like a bit of a handful from that last one.

Filters and black and white photography. Do people on here use them? Any preferences?

In other news. I just acquired an R3A and a 40mm Nokton!

    pees pants

  • R3A hey, and a 40. Tidy.

    And thankyou, much appreciated!

I often use an orange filter for b&w.
To me it's the most helpful for switching my mind to 'monochrome-mode',
and most of the time I do appreciate the contrast as well.

    Neat! Have fun!

I just shoot enough that no one cares anymore. I also just don't take the photo if the subject acts up in a way I don't like.

It is slightly worrying how many photos of him end up on my blog though. . .

Yellow almost as a matter of course.
    Orange where architecture is involved.
Red if I want more contrast than common sense indicates.
Polarizing with any of the above - usually to deal with obvious reflections, sometimes just for the hell of it.

I understand most filter effects can be reproduced using a negative scanner and Photoshop or equivalent, but I can never get it quite the same as filtering 'for real', and more often than not, I use an enlarger for printing...

Needless to say I'm doing it for fun rather than as part of work...

  • Can get them all very cheap nowadays if you keep an eye out on ebay, I got some Hoya filters for a few quid each.

  • I'm on the hunt for a reasonably priced Ricoh GR1... don't suppose anyone has one they are willing to part with?

  • WOO 100 pages of Film!
