  • The main question though, is it a good or bad idea to trade a 5d mk1 with a 50/1.4 for a bessa r2 + lenses and a micro 4/3 body with m-mount adapter to still be able to snap away digitally?

will the 4/3 camera be utter shit compared to 5d?

Micro 4/3rds have tiny sensors, so a 50mm will be about 100mm equivalent on 35mm. The 1.4 would be a great help, though.

I use a Voigtländer 40/1.4 and it's the lens that lives on the camera. Very solid, sharp reliable piece of kit.

  • Barcelona is ace for cycling.

Just got a Bronica SQ-A, I'm experimenting with, anyone got a wide angle that would fit I can borrow please? Want to experiment before buying one.

I have 50mm PS. If you promise to be gentle I am willing to be nice ;-).

  • From the first roll through the Contax T:

Main thing is the exposure seems to work ok.

  • Sorry if this is annoying but I'm selling an Olympus XA, Olympus Trip, Konica Big Mini, a few praktica SLRs and some other bits and pieces. Can't be bothered to write an ad/put on ebay, would rather just sell straight to another enthusiast. Gimme a shout if you're interested!

^ Really like the way the top one came out!

    Big Mini, how much?

  • Bit of a long shot but I'm looking for a Nikon 28mm f/2.8 AI if anyone has one.

  • XA gone sorry. Have an XA2 for sale also.
Just checking on the big mini price, Hyper Allah bought it for me a long time ago and paid a tonne because it was really popular then. Doesn't seem to be any really on eBay except one that will rocket on the last day...

  • I like em tatty ;)

  • moving this to the digi thread where it belongs

if anyone got more pointers on m-mount lenses or bessa's that'd be appreciated though

I have a Voigtlander Bessa R2a...did the job, got a lot of shots I liked out of it, but for me it was really just the gateway drug to getting a Leica, which inevitably happened.

Only lenses I have are Voigtlander...got the 35 1.4, 50 1.5, and 15mm. All are fantastic; only downside is that the 35 isn't great as a walkabout lens, as it has quite bad barrel distortion, but other than that, no complaints. 15mm is amazing.

Def se your point re gateway drug. Think that's the case for me aswell though I want a less expensive / precious middle ground first.

Been reading / talking about lenses with a clued up friend this weekend and I think a bessa (at least r2) and a summicron 40mm is on the shopping list

If you decide to go for the R2a over the 3, then let me know, as I've got one that I'd probably be prepared to sell.

  • def interested in a r2a, what condition and price?

  • Prob my fave film rig is a Bessa L with the snapshot-skopar 25mm. Screw mount lenses, hotshoe-mount viewfinder only, zone focus, but TTL. Sounds gash and limiting until you use it and its a revelation. I once posted some stuff off it... ..oh yes back in #1033. I also have the 15mm lens/finder but it very rarely gets used.

I always fancied an M-mount rangefinder like the R2a but never enough £ hanging around.
