Get the feeling this is very much like 'vinyl is making a comeback' on a really micro scale. Decent quality camera phones responisible for 99% of that decline I'd imagine.

Yeah totally although the caption mentions analog photography making a major comeback & an 80% increase in used film camera prices.

Would love to shoot some 8x10 polaroid one day.

Aye but everyone uses iPhones now so I dont know if that is reprisentive to the cause. Saying that kodak hires 300 employees yet the price of film in the last 2 years has become eye watering, the hope is it goes down which it probs won't.

Insane.

I am kicking myself a bit for not buying a few bodies 10 years ago when I was buying the lenses. I really didn't see them becoming so expensive.

its unbelievable isn't it, I love/hate finding forum threads from 10/15 years ago where people have minor issues with bodies and the advice is always to pick up a new one for a few hundred quid.

It's been working out on one level. I'm resisting temptation to shoot film.

Thing with digital is getting decent prints. I think that's where it's analogous to the vinyl conversation. Digital music in many ways is 'better' and it's certainly more convenient. There's something special about a good chemical print though.
There should be room for both in any case. It's also the lens not the body that makes a difference to me.

I bought a Fujifilm x100s 2 years ago and it's been my most used camera I've owned. Film is expensive and getting them developed, scanned + printed is even worse now. £25/30 all in for 36 images that may or may not be great is a hard pill to swallow I think.

Some time ago I got a Fuji GA645 for cheap/traded loads of unused cameras for it but had some issues, ribbon shutter cable was on its way out and the flash didn't work, I found https://www.fotonaprawa.pl/ and promptly send my camera to them, rookie mistake and put a really high value on postage so I got done at customs for what it was not worth the camera or repair, cue some Comms with the postal system there and eventually I got the camera back, only to send it again, this time low value so no customs and charges. Within 2 weeks I had the camera back with a new cable and a fixed flash, this is some of the results from the test roll, glad I fixed it and it's most certainly a keeper, also fototech were great to deal with. Highly recommend.
Also, Dev and scan from analogue wonderland with a voucher I had. Not bad, I usually use AG labs.

Haven’t taken any photos in forever. Took me a year to finish this roll of Delta 100, but here’s a few I liked. Third photo is of the incredibly disturbing Manzanar Japanese internment camp.
