I've been very happy with a vintage Gitzo + Leica ballhead.

Been meaning to post for a while. Does anyone have interest in a colour enlarger? Model is Kaiser VCP 6000. Currently dismantled and hasn't been used in a few decades. Would need collecting from Cambridge.

extremely keen, can it take up to 6x7?

Ah yeah I heard about this a while ago. No idea why, I assume its due to the lack of custom to be honest. He was never really that busy when I used him.
They still have some of my negatives that I guess I wont be able to collect now!

cropped a few bits of 6x6 down to 4x5 format. seems like a bit of a waste of negative but relatively happy with the results. that said i do want to learn to compose better for 6x6!

Really like that first one here as well. Nice vibe, great light, beautiful colours π
I had a tough time learning to compose square format.
Realised that it just doesn't lend itself well to quite a few scenarios, like a lot of landscap-y stuff π
On the other hand I've found it quite strong for other things, namely portraits and reportage-kind-of shots.
Google image or Flickr seaching big names and filtering by square format does provide a lot of inspiration π -

cheers again! what you say about the constraints of 6x6 for landscape makes sense. Think I'm gonna load up some fast black and white and take some portraits over the winter.

I suspect not but will check manual online and what neg carriers there are. Also hoping the electrics are still around! It's at my dad's - will set it up and look for rest of the bits next time I'm back π€

6x6 can def do landscap-y stuff but yeah maybe not as intuitive as shooting in a landscape format.

Every now and again I'll look to buy some colour 35mm film, however either nobody has stock, or those that have sell for inflated prices. It seems like it's been like this for a few years now, will film recover, or is this the best we can hope for?
It's frustrating as a I have a Leica M5 and Nikon F doorstops I love shooting with, but these days I just shoot with digital.

Ive not shot colour in years so don't know what prices you're looking for, but anything here?

that's just how much it costs now

Film has always been expensive, back when i shot 10x8 E6 it was nearly Β£10 for a polaroid and over Β£10 F+P for a sheet, not forgetting you would have to shoot 3 sheets then dev 1 and hold the other 2 in case they needed a push.
you lot donβt know youβre born. ;-) -

cheers!
i'm still shit at framing 6x6. i'm partly blaming it on the viewfinder on the camera but this is no excuse really!
