  • Aye film Dev always for me, never had any issues apart from I sent two batches recently and one is lost but that’s the first tome and hopefully it shows up and it’s RM not film Devs fault

  • thanks konastab01 will check them out.

  • I’ve always struggled to work out whether Flickr is best as a cloud storage platform which presents things nicely or as a social media like Instagram to show more of my best stuff.

As a result, my flickr is a mess which is the main reason I don’t use it much. It’s on my list to tidy it up and try to use it more than Instagram.

Anyone got any hot tips on what will come after Instagram as it becomes more video orientated?

  • I've used TrippWorks and Take It Easy Lab in the past and both have been great.

  • Proper long shot I know but my flat was broken into whilst I was away last week and whoever it was took my film cameras. If anyone sees these for sale let me know:

    • Mamiya ZE (unfortunately I have no serial number for this but haven't seen many around)
    • Rollei 35T (number on back is 6328713)
    • Olympus XA-2 (again no number unfortunately but I stuck the focus distances on the back cover)
    • Olympus Trip (number on top is 5290657)
    • Canon AE1 Programme (number on top is 3640381)

    Thanks

  • I'm still using tumblr, but I fear it's just going to disappear one day.

  • Man that sucks, some people are shit. Might be worth emailing any camera shops that take trade-ins near you in case they try and get rid of them there?

  • Ah yeah good idea

  • I'm still using tumblr, but I fear it's just going to disappear one day.

Yeah, I was just re-activating one of my tumblrs (sort-of a community-foto pool) and realized the theme wasn't working like it used to (years ago, to be fair) - googled a lot to fix the issues and realized that support / developement has basically died meanwhile -
so I do agree it seems that it won't be around for much longer.

Looking at it from another angle it seems that quite a few people are still using it - for what it is: a blog that is suitable for displaying photos chronologically (tumblr not compressing images if you manage to get the "hi-res" options right makes it unique).

I suppose it will die anyway due to lack of users and I got no clue what will replace it down the line.

  • tumblr not compressing images if you manage to get the "hi-res" options right makes it unique

How does this work? all mine are 1280x800 I think

  • This was the biggest I ever uploaded, frankly.
Yet it kept the original file (filesize stayed exactly the same after upload), which was a big plus as there was no loss in image quality as with the other platforms.
I was quite happy with that 🙂

In tumblr's "edit theme" settings (sometimes "advanced settings") there used to be a "large images" option with some themes - can't remember the (free) one I used back then but now they are either dead and / or not free anymore, like https://highrestheme.tumblr.com

  • Found this little beauty in a charity shop. In mint condition apart from light seal on door solinoid cells still work. Looking forward to a rest run.

  • sweet

  • Bikepacking XA / Velvia 50

  • love the light in the last two shots

  • So rich and luscious.

  • Thanks guys, used Nik and Trick to develop these and another couple of rolls I shot in the F6..... the F6 rolls look pretty shit. Almost like they were cross processed.

  • Deffo looks odd or cross processed to me. I'd give them a shout. Unless it was really ancient velvia, I don't understand how it'd come out like that.

  • Some more from the good rolls

  • ^ first one of that post is a banger!

Not sure what's up with that other roll but these look really great, "rich", as nefarious said..

Those (last post) are not shots with the XA, are they? They look so "hi-res" and, well, great : )

  • All shot with the XA, all at F8.

  • These are unreal, so sharp! Are you scanning with a DSLR?
