  • The beach set is great esp the tower and car one. where is this???

Burnham on Sea, just south of Weston Super Mare. Recommended for fans of bleak seaside towns.

  • Someone near me was shopping out a few cameras, all untested. One of them being a Canon 850. I found it really interesting as it is an SLR body with no manual controls. So I put a battery in it and put a 40mm 2.8 pancake on it so it became kind of like a point and shoot in terms of functionality, without a flash (the 750 has a flash, which would make it more point and shoot-y). You frame up, semi depress until it finds focus and off you go.

Blasted a roll of Colorplus to see if it worked and all is well with the camera, could definitely see myself shooting some more AF Canon body stuff!

  • Actually, please direct your attention to image no. 4 above, with the kids jacket on the gate. There is a horizontal line across the scan at the "No Parking" sign, does anyone know what the story with this is? Have noticed this in a few recent scans. Epson V600. Just noticed it in the fifth photo with the beemer too.

  • Not much help I am afraid except to say that I have had the same thing before, also v600. See RHS of attached image. I have always assumed it was a software thing as it’s been fine when I rescanned...

  • lovely shots. what camera they from?

  • Rolleicord VB still my favourite camera, not as sharp as others I've used but light, robust and fun to use.

  • Thanks. I love a bleak seaside town esp visiting a cafe and just daydreaming

  • was there an rb67 being sold in here recently or did i imagine that? had a quick search but nout turned up

  • I might’ve mentioned that I was thinking of getting rid of mine, but I’ll probably keep it for now. Can’t remember if it was me you’re thinking of tho.

  • haha maybe, no worries if it was. i have a feeling it was being sold with the 110mm, not sure if that narrows it down at all

  • A few from down the beach

  • Kodak doing another big price hike from 10 to 20% in Jan. Portra up by another 13%
    https://kosmofoto.com/2020/11/kodak-film-prices-rise-2021/

  • In a video for NBC’s ‘Left Field’ strand, Eastman’s Kodak general manager Ed Hurley said Kodak film production had more than doubled between 2015 and 2019 to try and meet increased demand.

..wow, wouldn't have thought it did increase that much

  • These are banging!

  • Lovely colours! What camera and film?

  • Contax T2 and Fuji C200

  • Aye and they doubled there prices too.

  • I never normally shoot Fuji in colour but thought I'd try out Pro 400 H. Got a batch of scans from filmdev alongside some Ektar 100 and thought the Fuji looked particularly lacklustre and washed out. I rescanned a couple of frames on a Plustek 8200i I am borrowing. The difference is pretty day and night. Has anyone had this happen before? I don't understand how the professional scans could be so off... Makes me question all of the scans that I've had in the past that I thought were average to poor in terms of my metering !
