Basically I am looking for something that is pretty versatile yet simple to play around with. If this isn't appropriate your recommendations would be much appreciated! If that is a good buy... dont bid on it! cheers.
I have bought a few Zenit-Es at car boot sales - mine was £6 with Helios lens and it works wonderfully. I bought a Zenit-B (like an E but without lightmeter, so not as good) for my girlfriend for £3 with Helios lens and a case. Yesterday I bought a Zenit-E for £2 but the shutter jammed about five minutes after I bought it - the seller gave me a free Kodak Brownie 127 because he said that it worked... I'm gonna rip the guts out of the E and use the body/spools as the basis for a pinhole camera.
They're all fully manual, tough and extremely heavy.

I like really like this and have just realised why - it reminds me of the film "The Third Man".
Also Nosferatu.

Gents, I am new to all this and am looking for some beginners advice. I have looked through the last few pages and the first page, but if at this point you have heard this all before please call me a dick and direct me in the direction of the info! Otherwise I have been doing some reading and some ebaying and was wanting your opinion on this;

I may have one I can get you fly off my housemates OM10 that doesn't work, don't think she uses it so i'll ask her next week about it.

thanks mate. drop me a pm.

Nice one, Fly, enjoy it.
My main camera is an OM10. I generally use it on 'auto' mode but have the manual adapter fitted and use it when lighting is more difficult

Looking forward to seeing the pinhole results - here's a couple I took yesterday on a pinhole modified Agfa Silette

Looks good Windy!
My main worry with converting the Zenit is that the distance from the pinhole to the film will be about 45mm, which won't result in the ultra-wide angle pinhole photos that I've been liking lately. I suppose I could do some work on the camera so that the film runs on the other side of the spools (as it, it's not pressed against the back of the camera, but runs towards the front of the camera). Or I could recess the pinhole right back into the camera itself (since I'm removing all broken innards anyway) - although it'd take some careful calculations to ensure that my photos aren't framed by the inside of the lens mount.
On the other hand, the Zenit is nice and heavy which'll help with stability, and it has a light-meter which, with some calculations, should give me some reasonably accurate exposure times.
I think I'm gonna make a simple flap shutter for mine (the Zenit's one is jammed, and they're pretty explosive and violent and loud anyway - not good for long exposures) and use the existing lens mount to mount a more secure screw-on cover over it.

Pink decay. Nice.
But if you don't mind an objective view, I'd have cropped the image from the roofline, and removed the sky completely. The enormous contrast between the blue and the pink fights for the eye's attention. IMO. Sorry, I know I'm probably wrong, again. :)

I disagree, it's better for the sky (and the pavement). I wouldn't have chopped the edge of the right-hand bay though (actually, I probably would have much worse but only because I'm rubbish at composing).
Like that
