  • I use them on insta only so I can fit a 3:2 portrait photo without the top and bottom getting chopped, but never on all 4 sides. The same on landscape photos just for consistency. I disagree that they make photos better tbh, the photo is the same

  • makes most photographs better

The reality is it just makes most photographs smaller, meaning you see the shit parts less well.

  • Regarding borders, size etc.

You chose the photo, why wouldn’t you choose how it’s seen?

  • XA / Bronica ETRS all on Portra 400

Ahh, I knew there was a reason galleries put photos in white mounts inside the frames

  • Anyone used the AE prism for the Mamiya 645 (original version, not super/pro) ?
Considering picking one up but not sure how good the metering is on it, or how much extra weight it adds over the standard prism ?

  • Yea I actually have that exact setup here at the moment.
Never compared to other meters but it's fine.
AE prism is close to 500g, while the standard waist level is 175g.

  • Cheers. Have bought one to try out

  • Love the cow photo

  • You're welcome!
Remember the camera needs a battery for the prism finder to be able to meter
    ;-)

  • Don't know why, but there's something about a car with a cover on that I really like in a photo.

    I feel you..

  • Those recent ones are all Kodak Gold and Pentax-M 28mm f3.5 by the way.
It's a nice lens, easy to work with and great build quality as all the Pentax-M's.
Image quality not on Leica level of course but very decent I think
(note I added vignette to all of these, corners are not that dark-ish normally)..

  • This and the covered one above are so strong. Id vote for less/zero vignette but thats down to personal preference

  • Cheers @Turkish glad you like them!

  • Really like that

  • How have people fared with the variety of printers in London? Looking at getting some in nice prints done. Bayeux, Aperture?

  • Anyone shot Ektar in 35mm and 120 ? I’ve been finding it less saturated/contrasted in 120 than 35mm. At times in 35mm it can be too much, and I prefer the look of 120 Ektar.

Wondered if this was due to the film, or some other factor ? Mamiya vs Nikon glass, difference in exposure or scanning (albeit done by the same lab) etc

  • Other factor. The emulsion is the same. There are so many factors at play that its definitely not the size of the neg
