  • I moved out of my old place a few weeks ago and left several boxes of photo development equipment. My old housemates are all moving out, so this material needs a new home - is anyone interested in (mainly German) photo development equipment - it's pretty much everything you need to set up a home lab.

It's all completely free, you just need to collect from Leyton sometime in the next week and a half. You will need a car or a full-sized cargo bike.

More details that I sent through to someone else So, my dad and I built a darkroom in my bathroom when I was 17, which I used a couple of times and then went off to uni. My parents moved, ran out of space and its been sitting in my cellar. The apparatus is from France, Germany, Switzerland, UK - mix of plug types but it all works together. I've got an enlarger, timer, red light - pretty much everything you need. I also have all the necessary tanks, light proof storage bottles, etc etc. I can't guarantee it all works perfectly - It hasn't been used in almost a decade.. but then again, it has been stored safely and most of the equipment is fairly vintage too!
  • Would this kind of setup work for developing colour c41? If so would love to take it

  • I think that just depends on the chemicals you use, right? I'm not very knowledgeable about these things, but I remember my father saying that we could do colour, but B&W was more straightforward

  • Alright sweet you've convinced me, will drop you a pm now

  • 1st one is gorgeous

  • It's that time of year again when I think about selling the Hassleblad... Is there any other medium format rangefinder I should considering other than the Mamiya 7? Apart from the Pentax 67.

  • the Pentax 67

    not a rangefinder

if size doesn't matter Fuji GSW690/680/670 I, II or III. WY Cameras have a Pentaon Six at a decent price rn.

  • Where do people buy there film from? Im looking for a 5 pack of 135mm Portra 400. Is Amazon the best bet? Is there anywhere in London that can compete on price?

  • Silverprint

    fuck amazon

  • Yea I don't really want to buy from them!

  • Okay thanks will investigate.

Don't sell it you'd regret it.

  • Every time I say I'm thinking about it somebody here says that. Truth is I haven't used it really in 5 years, apart from shooting landscapes in Iceland which albeit epic doesn't happen everyday. The best camera for me personally is the one I use the most, and something about the Hasselblad doesn't make me carry it around with me and shoot in public. Agreed, gorgeous piece of kit though.

  • I haven't used it really

You should be using it more.

  • Ok so jokes aside

    Plaubel Makina 67.

  • Just paid £1 a roll to get film deved and scanned while on holiday in Hanoi...

It would almost be cheaper to send the rolls here by post than go to a lab in London

  • Isnt that super unreliable?

  • If you ever sell...... dibs.

  • Noted. Just seen how much Mamiya 7's are... What's that about?!

  • Image quality.

I seem to remember having this conversation with you six months ago...
I think I suggested then to shoot 35mm if you find the Hasselblad too much of a pain to take out.

Use modern glass on an af body from the last days of film, shoot Delta/TMax or Portra/Ektar/Fuji Pro and the difference between that and medium format isn't that great. Especially if you're just getting scans and/or printing at A4.
