  • its funny where google analytics leads you. hello hinius!

cycling and photography seem to attract like minded people...

  • Welcome aboard Ben.

  • Some from the last roll of Tri-X in D76 at 400 ASA:

  • I'm interested in taking more pictures so i want a good, cheap supply of film . I have used fp4 and delta400 before and loved the results but i'm still doing GCSE's so have limited cash. I saw rollei rpx, rollei retro 400s (repackaged afga) and kentmere 400 (made by harman). there all bellow £3 which is good ( i even saw a pack od ten rollie retro 100 for £17), but i also want good results i know maybe not as good as delta, fp4, hp5, tri-x etc. does anyone have any experiance with these films or any recomendations for a 400 or 100 speed B+W film?

B+W film is cheap. Neopan is only £3 if you buy 2 or more on the above website, and tri-x is something like £3.50

  • Some really great, atmospheric shots there. Proof if proof were needed that it's not about aspherical glass and technical bells and whistles.

Some of my popular shots... http://www.lomography.com/homes/born-to-ruin/popular

  • This one caught my eye.

  • My missus is a Lomo aficionado.

Taken with a Lubitel on Ilford FP4, she developed it herself. Lay around for a while before she got it scanned, hence the dust & damage.

My favorite shot from Venice, Canon AE-1 on Fuji Superia.

  • Cheers!

Now for the obligatory flickr mention.

I'd also like to mention that this thread has got me psyched to get some B&W on the go!
Too many good shots by people in here.

Do you do your own scans? If so, what do you use?

  • very very nice

I do scan myself. I have an art studio on a graduate program at Northumbria University and there's one of these there:

It's going to be a proper pain in the twat when I leave and won't have access to it any more, the scans are sick and so much better than the old scanner they used to have!

  • Does anyone know what frame this is? Looks sweet.

Some awesome photos on this page, here is a recent one from me...

  • Some lovely pics here. I use a mixture of film and digital. I have an Olympus OM10, Rollei B35 and 3 Holga 120's. I also develop my own b&w and then scan the negs.

  • Here's my little film camera, got some nice snaps out of it:

  • All shot with Double-X in Diafine or Rodinal. Various cameras/lenses.

One of my pet peeves is bloody 'street furniture'! Councils should be made to have the opinion of a photographer/artist before installing all the crap they waste our money on filling the streets with unnecessary junk. The number of times you have to compromise a shot to try and keep bollards, signs etc. out of it.

You'll be pleased to hear that guard railing is on its way out in London. The same can't be said for bollards, though.

I've got a Trip, great little camera. Especially considering the price you can pick them up for.

Just recovered my old trip with some brown pleather i had lying about.

Also managed to pick up a shit load of stuff (dev tank, 12 trays, focus finder, contact printers and neg clips) for £20 quid off one of the tutors from uni who has made the permanent move to Digi.

    Well happy.

  • I really like reading this thread so thought I would share my flickr:

Some of the more recent shots are digital, but the majority is taken on a film rangefinder.

  • Nice one on the Trip, anyone who wants to do it on the cheap, head to Faulkner Fine Papers, downstairs, they've got offcuts of goatskin in various colours, pared down so it's not too bulky.

  • Does anyone have a Rolleiflex they would like to sell me?

  • There are so many models Hobo, did you mean one of their TLRs?

Depending on what you're shooting, keep in mind that the "baby Rolleiflex" can now he used again, because of 127 film being produced again.

  • Yeah, any of the TLR's. I have been looking on the bay but am a bit worried about buying a high value old camera online.
