  • One final splurge of shots from Val d'Isere.

  • Lovinig this.

    Couple Cairngorm shots, Velvia 100, om20, 28mm.

  • I made the switch from Ilford to fuji for a uni project. I think it may be a permanent one as I am a massive fan of the results from a roll of neopan.

    That is all.

Very nice, great film, just so long as you don't get any ideas to shoot it in MF:-(
    A tragic loss! Neopan 400! - Rangefinderforum.com

  • that sucks I mostly use 35mm but I use the Blad at uni a fair bit.
There is about 50 rolls in the uni shop which is where I will be going first thing tomorrow.
Thanks for the heads up Ivanskavinsky.

  • Buy it up, I can't order any from suppliers anymore and have had to switch back to Tri-X (which is still great)
What I liked most was that you could soup Acros and Neopan at the same time, which was great for my students but now they'll have to go back to splitting their devs = more time in the dark...

  • I don't mean to alarm anyone (GA2G) but the processing thread mentioned in post 1 isn't working...

Loving the shots on this page by the way. Lovely.

  • Nice video about the dying art or printrooms / medium & large format stuff:

  • Got this in the post today

Got to replace the light seals on the Mamiya using a kit I got from Interslice on fleabay then I can try out some zone system metering.

  • Forth Road Bridge, Edinburgh. Really happy with the shot, looks a bit Blade Runner-esque - in my mind any way.

  • A Few more that I shot to Finish the roll of neopan from the earlier images.

  • any ricoh repairers in london(apart from sendean)?

  • Talk to Ricoh UK's rep. He'll arrange for it to go to Germany for inspection and a quote. I've just had a GR1s repaired. It's not quick or cheap but they will still repair analogue cameras. Nikon have just repaired my 28ti too (to my surprise).

If the quote comes in too steep then Ziggy of London Camera Repair Centre in Notting Hill will probably give it a go. He sorts out my SLRs nicely.

bit worried about the second review:

absolutely in love with that shot. love it. the lights through the mist come out really well. i keep trying to get that to work adequately when i'm up north and it never happens.

  • Has anyone replaced the light seals on an A-series Canon? Or lubricated the mirror dampening flywheel to deal with shutter squeak or shutter timing problems?

I picked up a black Canon AV-1 with an f/2.0 50mm, like the one on the left here (it was a limited edition for the '82 World Cup, so came complete with the World Cup lens cap) .

It was only £15 and was meant to be broken - the shutter was stuck up, but it is in good nick I quickly got it going by fitting a new battery and leaving it on top of my computer for a while (the shutter was stuck up, and it seems the warmth melted the goo and let the shutter come down again, have heard other reports of this happening).

The light seals are completely perished, so I've ordered a kit to fit replacements, but I'm worried that the perished light seals have got into the mechanism, so it might need cleaning out inside or lubricating.

Since I got the shutter going again it's been fine though, and there is no squeak/cough, so I'm not convinced it needs doing. I don't really want to pay to have it done so would probably have a go myself, but I'm wondering if I should just leave it unless I have problems with exposures (until I load a film I won't know this, of course) or with the shutter again?

  • that lens cap is fucking cool!

  • yeah isn't it! Made dating it a synch too...

  • Not done the seals on a canon but I recently did them on my Mamiya 645.
It was a doddle really, I just took my time d had some relaxing classical music on while I worked.
Did you get an Interslice kit?

  • I got the kit from camerasealkit.com on eBay. Is that bad? It was cheap...

It comes with full instructions, I thought it can't be that hard, I've done trickier DIY tasks I think.

  • Some very nice pics of the mountains there by the way nefarious.

Nah nah, just coz I got an interslice one and it was good n they have kits for a lot of cameras.
I need to do the seals on my Konica FP1 now though and interslice don't have a kit listed so ill have a look at camerasealkit.com.

  • Just had a look at their site, looks good.
The option to send them your camera while impractical for non US buyers is good.
I was quoted almost a hundred quid to do my Mamiya recently, camerasealkit.com would do it for $33.

Shots were taken using a cheap eos 300 body and 50 1.4.
natural light from window with net curtain used as diffuser.
the cable is Electro luminescent wire which after watching the new Tron I ordered a shit load of from ebay.
The images were made entry into the fujifilm student awards this year and if you want to see the other 2 images they are here.
    That is all.

Very cool idea and well-executed - might try this myself.

  • Has any one had any experiance with the kodak or ilford C-41 b+w films and fuji pro 160h or fuji pro 400h

  • I just used a roll of xp2, really like the results
