Analog film photography and cameras

Oh shit!

Was it packaged individually or has a roll packed with others gone missing?

Normally group my rolls off and send first class. Luckily didn't this time. Sent a 35mm roll first class on Monday, and a 120 roll also first class Tuesday.
Had the scans back from filmdev for the 120 roll, rang filmdev yesterday and they've not received the 35mm roll. I suppose it could still be in the postal system somewhere, but I'm not holding out much hope.

I only send special incase this happens, although Im waiting on my negs back that have been sent 2nd class delivery hopefully they dont go missing.

Yeah, I think I'm going to use Special Delivery for sending films to filmdev now. An extra £3 on top of first class post doesn't seem that much for extra security for a roll you've been walking around for hours shooting :/

My favourite from the recent batch, first time in a couple years since i used the leica, I'm out of practice it seems...
Negs don't look as bad as i expected given the scans, a bit underexposed. Need to check the rangefinder and lens focusing. And clean the lens filter once in a while.

Nice, calm image.

Had a go with a rangefinder the other day (for the first time since, uh, a good while).
A Revue 400SE (it's a Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII clone apparently).

It's got a really nice lens, very sharp, very contrasty.
If you like manual rangefinders this might be for you.
I realized I've been shooting SLRs for so fucking long maybe I will not ever get used to rangefinder focussing, always feels awkward to me. And I guess there's cameras with better viewfinders out there, but I also have trouble determing reliably what will be in the frame excactly. Practice makes perfect I guess but I think I'll pass.
Apart from medium format, where I'm still on the quest of finding "my" portable 120 camera.
I guess I settled on a Plaubel 67W but now realized they are not repairing them anymore since this summer, so that's quite a lot of money for a camera that may have issues sooner or later - which will be expensive / impossible to fix..

They're all on a Zorki 1 (one of those rangefinders you don't like) with Jupiter 8 (50mm f/2) except 3 is probably Jupiter 12 (35mm f/2.8).

The film is cross processed E100VS except 2 which is cross processed E100G... I had to take it to a place to get developed because everywhere in Japan that sells C41 developer is out of stock atm.

Medium format is what it is I guess ? My Mamiya C330 is a brick of a camera, but I've kind of got used to it. I could spend more to get a decent folder I guess, but if I want something smaller there's 35mm.
There's always a Holga I suppose and I get tempted every now and again as they're cheap. Not really a fan of the Lomo thing though

Yea it is what it is of course, still the reality is that I will be carrying the thing with me about 300 days a year, so it just has to be something that isn't huge or heavy as fuck.

I love Mamiya 645's for example, and I have (a friends' one) here for 10 months now or so - but have shotten a total of 2,5 rolls with it until now as I just can't be assed to drag it around town on a regular basis.

What about a folding camera e.g. Zeiss Ikon?
They're a bit primative and lenses are a bit slow for handheld use in winter but the glass quality is decent and they're pretty cheap....

I looked into these a while back. There's some beautiful cameras from that era..
In the end I decided against going that route, the major reasons were
a) while being rather cheap cameras that age will most likely need a complete CLA at least
b) dim / old / small finders - if any at all
c) narrow range of shutter speeds & slow glass
