  • Wow, they look very serious.... I look forward to seeing the results.
years ago I got one of these DIY 35mm pinhole kits for Christmas

    It was a good laugh.

  • That looks pretty decent considering. I'll be getting it towards the end of the month as they are made in batches.

  • Got a cheap om2 and 50mm lens ..Jesus Christ the mirror is loud!!

I love my pen d3 because it's quieter and has a meter on top plate, i am even ok with zone focus .. i think I am going to sell everything and a get a leicas m6 ttl .. whats the best 35mm non-leica lens i can buy?

  • Passed on that, felt like false economy at £750, there is an S2 for £450 but I want metering capability. Minolta CLE maybe ..

  • Oh yeah, I always liked the look of them. Never tried, but have always heard good things about them.

  • Croydon Photo had a CLE for £350. I think they still have the 40mm lens and flash for it. Amazing cameras, especially for use with a flash.

Zeiss are the 'best non-leica' I guess. They're mostly a bit big and sometimes get a bit wobbly. The 35 2.8 isn't big and the images from it are cracking. Ffordes have stock.

Voigtlander Color Skopar 35 2.5 are good. The Nokton is technically less than perfect. The 40mm is interesting.

  • The meter in the M6 isn't as nice as the M7. Get an M7. Or an M2/M4/M4-2/M4-P and HTFU your sunny16 skillz.

  • Dunno if anyone uses it but my local Poundland have a ton of the Agfa 200 colour film in stock. Happy to grab some for folks and bring it into Lundun if anyone wants it.

  • hi, i am very much interested in your offer. whereabouts in Lundun can you meet? what price will you be looking for per roll?

  • I work on Oxford St. and come into Kings X so anywhere on that route is fine by me.

£1 a roll seems fair I reckon. Let me know how many to grab and I'll bring em in.

  • I always preferred the M6 to the M7. Too reliant on electronics. I like the Zeiss Ikon as well.

  • actually playing with that .. I think couple of rolls will take it to learn .. I am gonna expose a portra 800 (at 1600) with OM2 and see how I find it .. and here is a curveball .. how about M5? I just want a quite camera with a meter. Focus is not a massive priority kinda ok with zone focussing .. Bessa L looks tempting as well.

  • Thank you, I have sent you a pm.

  • @amey The M5 is highly rated by nerds. They're rare and fugly (I've never even seen one, luckily) ... prices are actually pretty high now.

    You want a quiet camera then leafshutters are your friend;

Konica Hexar or (silent) Konica AF. You could go the route of the 'consumer' rangefinders like the Canon QLs. I heart the Olympus 35 LC.

    The Contax Gs are quiet(ish).

  • Focus is not a massive priority kinda ok with zone focussing .. Bessa L looks tempting as well.

    Shoot your OM with mirror-up?

    For the lolz.

  • I always preferred the M6 to the M7. Too reliant on electronics. I like the Zeiss Ikon as well.

I prefer the leica cameras with zero electronics (accompanied with a sekonic sometimes).

@amey wants one with a meter, and a small stick with a moon affixed.
