too kind. any decent images are the result of luck, not skill. Nice to meet another Minolta fan.The only other decent frame from the 'flex. It's proving to be not my fave camera, but I've got a couple of things to play with it first, before I sell it on.

@haveo if you have PS/PSE/Gimpshop or anything have a check with hue/saturation and reduce your magenta. You may need to adjust greens and blues if you try to kill the red tinge in levels, but it's throwing your whites/greys off. Sometimes it's unavoidable, though - can be an issue how they're scanned. It's a problem most scanned neg film has (lots of pics on this thread have it). pm'd you

Bit of a scrappy job (been a while since I did one), but I re-covered my half working Canon New-F1 in a nice deep brown goatskin I had been given years ago. Looks marginally different, feels great. Too many battle scars on the camera for anything to look neat, will try get a pic of it. Also, in the market for a fast 35 or maybe 50/1.4 fd lens

OM4, Fuji Pro400.
Not sure happy with these as they seem a lot less sharper than my previous roll. Don't know if airport x-ray, scans, developing or user error are to blame.
Not bad, just not great. Quite a few on the roll seemed over exposed too. Arg, so many questions!

Also, looking to buy an OM mount, 1.4 50mm. Plenty on ebay, but does anyone have any tips for buying second hand lenses?
-
• #10894
I've bought OM lenses from keh.com (prices on non-collectable stuff is good but there will be some tax). I'd go to them again.
eBay bargains = fungus and disputes (or maybe I've just been unlucky).
Make sure you have an 50 f1.8. It's tiny, sharp as hell, cheap and just very nice to use.
For the f1.4: the later the better - the added coating etc makes a difference. Serial numbers tell you how old it is and early lenses had a silver bezel I think. It makes pretty portraits but is a bit soft.

Yeah, I've got a pretty late production 50 1.8 that is pretty sharp - just keen for that extra speed for low light stuff. And that's right as far as I'm aware - "silver nose" OM lenses are the older ones.
keh.com is great but no 50 1.4 in stock, will keep checking. They do have a lovely 1.2 55 though, and just a snip at $517 :-/ -

I would also try the real camera company in Manchester. No website sales, just ring them up. And there's a bloke in arundel who doesn't sdvertise but it's late so I can't find details

Wow, best of luck with yours, hope it all turns out well!
A couple more of mine. Will go back to the scanner at my uni tomorrow and finish going through the rolls. Proper scanning is soo time consuming... In the future I'll probably pay the extra £2 or £3 for the lower res scans at the developers and then properly scan the ones I like.
