  • Anyone got a £5 off £30 voucher?

  • Iirc code to input is just 5OVER30. Might be wrong though.

  • £6 off £30 - single use voucher:

    Z863-2481-4E

Quick! I'm not going to use it before midnight Monday when it expires.

  • I ended us using £5 off £35 which is "MVC35"

  • Z763-54F6-41 for £6 off £30, expires tonight

  • i have one of those codes, but their fucking website keeps hanging and timing out

  • called them up and the guy on the phone gave me free next day postage for my troubles

turns out they have just updated their website and its gone a bit wrong

  • Evans - feckers - advertising in-shop on the walls in Cullum Street in the City of Larndon 30% off Gore Bike Wear. But a Gore Bike Wear Element GT AS Jacket at list price £159.99 is on sale at £140.75. Hardly 30%! Took it up with the sales manager who said it's up to 30% off, not 30% off!!! That's clear then. 30% off Gore Bike Wear - except when it's not.

  • Went to pick up some emergency inner tubes from Evans in Spitalfields and had fabulous service from a chap that did transcontinental last year.

  • Evans Spitalfields - went to buy rack for the gf. Picked up rack went to a till downstairs, sorry we can't serve you here please go upstairs to front desk. Went to front desk, cashier is on phone discussing cycle to work purchase with another customer. Waited for a good 5 minutes (no idea why, perhaps I'm too nice) not even acknowledged by guy on phone. Rack now on their front desk. Fuckers can replace it on the shelf themselves.

No purchase. Should learn from previous experiences. They've had their last chance and I won't be using again, ever*.

Cycle Surgery across the square - greeted at door. Help offered. Unfortunately didn't have anything suitable, but available to buy from their website.

Cycle Surgery 1, Evans Cycles 0.

*unless purchases Hoy. I trust the big man.

  • I got told once in the Waterloo store that every single speed rider carries a block of wood around with them. In case they need to take the black wheel off and to re-tension the chain.

  • Someone's actually made one. Perhaps he used to work in Evans...

I've NEVER had a problem aligning a wheel in the track ends so never carried a block of wood....

  • I use the dairylea that my mum packs me for lunch.

  • i am not single, so don't need one

  • I have had very similar experiences in Evans Spitalfields.

They never seem to have someone available to serve you.

  • Why is the photograph all scratched. Has it been scanned in from a negative which was dropped on the floor and stamped on?

  • Aged arty look, the height of hipsterism

  • You wanna know the funny thing about that photo?

It supposed to be black and white.

  • Rise of the Idiots...

  • Well spotted.

  • It needs a pish filter.

  • I'll actually chip in with a positive for Evans (Mortimer street).

Had a flat when I went to leave work and nothing to fix it with. Popped in to use pump and wouldn't hold any air. They put a new tube for £5 (labour is free if you buy a tube) and had me out the door within 10 minutes.

I have a SS conversion road bike so they must have one of the aforementioned tensioners knocking around the workshop!

  • They put a new tube for £5 (labour is free if you buy a tube).

    First I heard of that.

Puncture labour always tend to be with new tubes, you must be real pretty.

  • Been a 'no labour charge' since around October.
