GrandeAnse, if you can arrange for all of that to happen in Walworth, in August that'd be great. Ta!

Snowy_again, I wish mate, I wish. Still, I can drink proper drinks now, so all is not lost. :)
Actually, when I was at Westminster College in Battersea years ago, some kids hired a whole train. We went down to Margate in the morning (the train leaving from Victoria). About 1,000 of us were on the train, and a great day by the seaside was had by all. On the way back, those enterprisng souls with music systems, turned off all the lights to all the carriages, and with sound systems blaring through the Kent countryside, we partied till we got back to Victoria, about 1am.
Any takers?

-
• #111
Sunday the 10th it is - clients permitting - you'll see why at the time.
Just did a catch up with Corny, so a more detailed post of what we will offer, and what we'll ask from you (essentially a few people to help clear up the site beforehand, and some techie bits and bobs) will come in the day or too.
Winston, I'll pm you separately, plans afoot.
At the moment, **djs, barbecues, jerk anythings, beers **and **bikes **are on the cards...

spit roasting a goat from "barbe" (beard) to "queue" (tail)....'sFrench innit?
-
• #114
I'm getting horrible images now that you've mentioned spit roasting a goat, but that's the kind of warped mentality that prevails in this age of hyper-sexuality.

I was chatting to my boys CHUG IT and CORNELIUS last night at SWBADMF and we all agreed that a home brew kegger is much in need for this righteous beer pounding session
Come pay day I'll be organising the brew, two pints and you'll be off your face... or your money back

I can print, laminate spok cards if we are doing any for the occasion (which I think we should)
I can't draw for shit though, so we need some designer types to come up with something brilliant. -

Right, here goes. LFGSS Barbecue plans for the summer: Cornelius and I went down to visit the site, and we've talked to a few of you at drinks since then to work out what we'd need and what we'll have on the day. So here's our first call for volunteers:
Clearing up the site
The garden's not been used for a while, so its overgrown and a needs some tender loving care. So we need a few people to volunteer to spend a few hours with a broom and some plastic bags to bring it back to life.So if you have any of the following we could borrow for a day or two:
- Garden strimmers / hedge cutters
- Secateurs - short and long handles (I've got some I can bring too)
- Gloves
- Brooms
- Hacksaw
Chug_It's kindly offered the use of his meaty oil barrel barbecue, but we're going to need some extra tables and chairs and the like, so if anyone has any suggestions, any spare, or is handy with power tools so we could knock some seatage up. We're also going to need practical eating stuff - plates and cups for those of you who aren't simply pulling the flesh off a hogs leg and drinking beer straight from a keg, but I'll deal with that at a later date.
**Entertainments **
Music - I'll sort out a different thread for djs, I know pajamas was wanting to play some tunes (judging by the other thread, it'll be "Crash" by the primitives, on repeat). I've got a pair of record decks, but at the moment we need
- An Amp (although I've got a power amp booster thing)
- Speakers (i've a couple of 100w jobbies, but we could do with a little more)
- Mixer
- Extension cables
- Transport to get them from wherever they are to SE17
- Bit of outdoor lighting
Having seen Mister K's thread about his 3 wheeled pedicab thing, we could attempt to make the music bike powered - does anyone remember the names of the people who ran the bike powered club night a couple of months back, and do you think that's feasible? From reading the posts, it seems that most of the bikes died from over use.
So if you can **donate some time **to clearing up the site - let me know - many hands make light work and all that. Once I know the number of people, I'll try and contact you via PMs to arrange a date.
There's a pub over the road too, which is a little bit like the Slaughtered Lamb, but it'll keep us refreshed. Despite being hungover and in desperate need of sleep, I'm still grinning with excitement over this!
- Garden strimmers / hedge cutters
This is a bit unrelated, but my favourite "cook-up" was when I was young in Grenada. Some local kids and me and my twin, went hiking one day, hacking our way through miles of sugarcane fields to reach a beach we could see from our homes. When we got there, the bigger kids donned flippers and masks, and armed with a spear gun, went fishing. The speared fish were roasted live on this secluded beach, and was washed down with juice and coconut water. What was not roasted was bundled into a large pot, where the fish was used in a pepper stew/soup. Scorching sun, white sand, best mates, a cook-up, and drinks....you can die after that, and know that you've really lived.
