  • Where do you go? I need a haircut.. need to save that .0002g for Wessex..

  • Contemplated that.
Then I saw the sadistic glint in Mal's eye when I asked her if she can cut hair..
    Pass.
I've done it myself before - race cut - but nowadays I'm so fucking stylish I just couldn't bear it. :)

Anyway, yeah I'll ride to Brighton again. Wait.. is this even the brighton thread?

with your sense of direction every ride has the potential to be a brighton ride…

He needs one of these for his HTFU wristband:

  • I have one of these..

It got me home last time I rode off the front of the clubrun bunch and missed a turn haha

  • tart!

  • Pity, I coming back from holidays the 3rd sunday, I will be in sunny Spain eating good food and drinking with freinds.... oh well, no to much to complain.

Dogs, if you organise the big BBQ please NO between 20 of julie and 3 of agust

  • This sounds fantastic, put me down absolute definate. We have water in Hull but it is quite brown and dirty and we don't have beaches as such, more mud flats which are not quite the same.

rik, date has been shifted to aug 23rd i think...

  • If this is at the end of August it is highly likely I will miss it. Going to France sometime towards the end of August. No definite dates yet though!

  • End of august?? count with me!!

  • what about the weekend after the dynamo?

    ie: the 26/27th july?

i do agree with kelvin though, that hove station should be reasonably clear on pride day, so we could stick to the original date

it'd be great to do it before august!

  • go on stick with the original date you know it makes sense

  • yes I agree early August would be great.
I am taking the wife to the LoveBox festival in Victoria Park on 19th & 20th July so I reckon it will be a green light for some cycling related activity on one of the following weekends

  • lebowski, GREAT FUCKING IDEA, the end of london to cambridge made the long toil in the sun worthwhile, beers, joke and eye candy.
Just need to make sure that people are honest about which group they join, otherwise they could find themselves spat out the back, and maybe the start times could be 45min intervals, just so there's a big enough gap between the groups.

  • Sorry for all the f*cking around with dates. Yeah, I'll trust the Brighton guys on this one and stick with the original date. August 2nd, and we'll make sure we are around Hove station.

  • it will be nuts, gay pride w/e!!

  • it will be nuts, gay pride w/e!!

that's why ya wanna go :)

  • 2nds fine. We got bikes and all grown up enough to figure out a way to get back. it will be a party atmosphere. will add to the day.
Worst case jump in a B&B/cheap caravan park and cycle back sunday

  • This is a top idea! Flatterd I've been put in the fast group. But dont put me up front, the last time I went to Brighton I ended up doing an extra 30 miles and then riding down the M23! Not much fun, but one hell of a buzz!

  • If the 2nd August is definate then I'm definate.

The earliest I can get to Lodon is 8am at Kings Cross so I will ride with whichever group.

    What about getting back?

    Ride?
    Train?
    Sleep on beach?

At the risk of sounding cheeky, the latest train that I can leave London on is 8pm, would I be able to crash over anywhere and get the train back on Sunday?

That way I don't have to do a Cambridge and leave the party early!

  • straightengers

  • Gosh, so much going on on the forum. OK, we'll stick with Saturday 2nd August. Trains from Hove to London don't stop at Brighton, so it shouldn't be a problem at all. Anyway, as we've seen from all our rides, people tend to leave in small groups at different times, so its not like we'll be trying to get 50 bikes onto 1 train.

And yes, Brighton will be busy that weekend, but it should make it more fun! Just be careful with telling the gf/wife that you are heading down to Brighton with 50 other guys. And no lycra! ;)

Shall we start a list, just to get an idea of numbers.

Medium Pace Group, leaving at 8.00am

    1. Stompy

    Medium/Fast Group, leaving at 8.45am

    1. Lebowski

    Fast Group, Leaving at 9.30am

    1. Mikec
    2. Hillbilly
  • How fast will the fast group be?
