hey superP, always like this design, but don't double straps go both sides of the axle on the pedals???
as in one strap at the front slot, then the other in the one behind the axle?? -
• #53
they can go either way, that's what those two slots are for in the rear cage. this way it holds the strap further back on you foot. personal preference really, this is just how i run mine!

ah, i got ya... my bad, sorry man.

What like a pair of Vans? Yeah well hipster? Not like most pro BMXers have been wearing them for 30years or anything....*
Now if you mean Bathing Ape, Nike Air Force/Court/Dunk, then I agree.
*sorry, not meaning to get all aggro just find it odd that you're so anti clips/strapsand pro-bmx use relates to me riding to work/pub/training how? It's not that often I find myself upside-down on a ride to work nor "railing a berm" (not that I wouldn't like to) but seriously nimhbus has got it right... for once ;)
I don't mind if you want to use clips/straps but I don't like them and will not be silenced until they are extinct and everyone is walking around like a duck.. :)

so i'm thinking of switching to clipless... (happy hippy?)
probably gonna get time atacs, unless anyone reckons otherwise.
as for shoes, just something cheap for now. i'm too poor for sidis. -
• #57
its all about clipless, Shimano 540's are the bomb, they last for ever. Using Nike Kato's with them which ain't exactly pimpin' but I can walk round uni nice n comfy in them.

Lots of people suggest ATACs as they're supposed to be harder to accidentally unclip from when skidding. SPDs are great for 'just riding'.

mister k
i did not find the original eggbeaters very good.
i use these quattro eggies now, i think they're really good.

@superprecise
If you plan to print the t-shirt, let me know I will be interested
in black and white, or grey,
Hipster slave is a no,no -

they stand up to skidding v. well, never unclipped by accident. they're designed so pulling up on them only increases spring tension, making it harder to come out.

you mean time atacs?

Yes please on the t-shirt below.
I voted for it. It's a really nice illustration, and I'm not sure what else sums up the fixed gear/retro thing for me more than clipsnstraps.
If you find a London T-shirt printers who can do slave-trade colours as below then can you PM me. I've been looking for ages and can only find the quality I'm after here!

oh yeah, and while we're on the subject, i think i'm gonna do a print run of these myself, probably just black and white on a white or a heather grey tee... anyone interested? could also print on hip hip slave coloured shirts.
Even just 1 fluro & black it'd work well.

• #67
i voted for that design too.
i'm in if you wanna print some up josh. -
• #68
you mean time atacs?
i mean the eggbeater design, maybe it applies to atacs too
-
• #69
cool i'll get on it as soon as i get the blasted work out the way...
-
• #70
cool T
Just get clipless, clips and a 15mm spanner, then you can pick and choose as you need for the ride
-
• #71
I voted for that T, nice! What does the 'S' stand for though?
-
• #72
I ride with clipless and clips and straps. Clipless are nicer for longer rides as there is defiantly a better power transfer. Clips and straps are nicer for more casual rides. Just ride what ever is more comftable for you.

Well I think that just about settles it.
In summary: Ride what the hell you like, it's all good.
Thanks everybody.
