Quiz time kids: Why is my ankle currently under a bag of peas?
No, your wrong.
It was a peddle-strike-caused-crash. A fantastically silly one at that. Suffice it to say you shouldn't weave between the gaps in the line in the middle of the road, EVEN if theres no cars, the sun is shining, you are just finished work. Never happened to me before (pedal strike, that is). it's very sudden. And unexpected. and a bit sore. -

Its down 3 flights of stairs, so no, not today. Too low and too long I'd imagine. Actually, crank length is 165 i think. The main problem was located about 1.5m above bb however.

I see. I think you might find it helpful if you lower your head, get it closer to the floor so you get a lower centre of gravity. You'll get better traction ;0)
.......and get well soon

I've not come off due to pedal strike, but i've smacked the pedal against the road more than once. The worst time was when I was doing something similar (except with traffic cones), but I've had it on fast corners and speedbumps.
[edit] road frame conversion and icky 170mm cranks btw.

I zen it though corners.
This is laying it down Brian Foster style.
He's in the air.

i'm not saying you don't slow down, in fact i'm saying the opposite, you change your cadence, so when you reach the corner your pedals are in a different place
Can't be done on a fixed gear drive chain, regardless of whether you follow a path fast or slowly your cranks will always hold their relationship to the ground.
Let me put this in pictures . . . . .

Something about taking a long time.
