Mr Smith - what no Black Sheep on your list?
no don't like it all, not bothered about old speckled hen either.
brakespear is nice as is elgoods black dog mild
shepard neame is horrible or shit and scream as it is known back home (kent)

i think there needs to be a south central beers at the market porter when things get a bit warmer

• Kelpie is nice beer - made with seaweed, but tastes a bit chocolatey. You can pick it up in Royal Mile Whiskies in Bloomsbury, and sample a dram or two at the counter while you're in there :)

• You bastards. Thanks to this thread it's quarter to two and I feel like drinking.

• So many decent brews from these folks.

Mammon will take your face off. Hassan that was the one which made you wobbly a while back.

• black sheep and tim taylor

• +1 for Duval and especially Chimay - it's lovely :D

• Well, I've just bought myself some Punk and Paradox. If they're rubbish, I will remorselessly flame any posting by Simpson79 from this point onwards.

• And if they're good?

• I won't.

• Ha.

• Do we get a discount if we mention arrospok?

• Fat Tire Amber Ale, i love this sh!t but hard to get over here:

http://www.newbelgium.com/beers_ft.php

Fat Tire, an Amber Ale, is the company's flagship beer. The recipe originates from a co-founder's bicycle trip through Belgium from brewery to brewery. The company promotes its Fat Tire ale locally by the public placement of colorful vintage bicycles outside its brewery, which is located adjacent to the public bike path along the Cache La Poudre River.

How'd they go down? that Paradox is silky smooth No?

• Just had a bottle of Paradox tonight (as did my wife). Really good. Definitely one to savour.

I was getting hints of all kind of things (even Cola), but the charcoaly bitterness kept it all in check.

I'd be interested in trying the batch 009 Ardbeg version...

• Hijack warning

when i come flying back i want to bring some local beers (think prizes for a welcome back race) but i dont want the bag grunts to steal them.... any ideas?

• Distract them by planting cocaine in the other end of your bag.

• and on that note is it ilegal to bring beer into the UK?

• So many decent brews from these folks.

I used to live 5 mins cycle from those guys! Fantastic little brewery.

• mmmmmmmmmmmmm beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeer
Actually it gives me wind but I still drink it.
oooh where to begin?
Jever (not Lever) is bitter as fuck for a 'lager' and I love it. Grimbergen makes me sleep, a lovely, drowzy sleep. All those lovely bavarian wheat beers, French lager cold with a croque monsieur, belgian 8% nasties with chips, foamy white beer tasting of sweets (somebody mentioned Brugge.... ooooh) yummy. English ale. Theakston's. Sam Smith's. Abbot. Tim Taylor. Uley Old Spot. Badger's Nipple, Handyman's Hand, Big Bouncing Baby Spit, The Bucolic Valley Between Her Thighs. Actually I made a few up there. Then of course there's the Super G.

ooh I'm thirsty.

• and on that note is it ilegal to bring beer into the UK?

No . . i bought back some flat tire, you just have to put it in your hold luggage, which is a pain , just make sure you put it in something waterproof in case it smashes.

• I bought £85 of fine Belgian brews from these guys yesterday.. should be here today..

Indeed. So much variety for an independent brewer. There's a pub 2mins from my house (The Oakdale) which always has about 5 of them on; I spend too much time in there!

• I've just had my first Leffe blond of the day. Friday is going to be good.

• Went into The Union in Greenwich yesterday and they've got a new 7.5% London IPA, it's soooooo nice. Although I did go back to work half cut :-)
