my logic was always that i mostly signal with my right arm as we ride on the left, so having the brake lever on the left seemed ideal. means signaling and braking is go. i've noticed some brake calipers have the cable housing on the left too, which might solve the cable angle.

scratch that last point, the calipers were crap to your 105. :D

or get a stick...

just put it on the left. you will get used to it in no time. honest.

It can be a little awkward going from a right lever to a front caliper - but should't be too much problem. If you are really struggling with your particular set-up compressionless housing like Nokon or I-link will make the job super easy, that stuff can go around very tight bends with ease.

Put it on your top tube. It's what all the cool kids are doing. ;-)

tynan - what's the red thing on your aheadset top cap? :s

Nokon cables are perfect for tight curves....best cables out there in my opinion.
Tynan,your bike is awesome!
Cheers Mr Not Scot.
@ Elvis - if you are having problems I have enough (black) Nokon to go from caliper to lever that you can have.

Mount it on the left for signalling right and to reduce the cable curve on its way to the caliper.

It's a screwdriver.
The cap is off and the front on the stem is only half clamped to the bars - I am in the middle of some tinkering - and the screwdriver is left in there to stop me from jumping on my bike and riding off forgetting that it will fall apart !

left is great! But my cable housing is too long and keeps getting stuck in my right hand. boo!

Get some nobrakecableTM to go with your 105 caliper and lever set up.

Tynan, you're a gent. I'll check the setup again tonight or tomorrow and if I need the Nokon I'll give you a shout.

You mean build wise ?
That bike was finished a while back, just doing some adjustments !

. . . or do you mean how much Nokon cable I have ?

Yeah, the cranks did the journey to Armourtex . . . the seatpost is going to be something else entirely !! The world's first electroluminescent seatpost !!! :D
It's proper Tron I tell ya' !! basically the whole surface of the seatpost radiates light - I am working on getting the power supply (I have to invert the power from 4 AA batteries) down a bit in size - but it is basically working - looks like you are sitting on a fluorescent tube - slightly surreal !!

that sounds totally rad... it'll be like sitting on a light sabre seat post (at a guess that was the concept)?

tynan where can i see pictures of the whole bike? that one pictured above i mean ^^
I instinctively put my front brake on the right hand side of my bars as with all my bikes. But as the lever is mounted close to the stem it ends up with a bit of a crazy curve in the cable/housing down to the brake.
Is it worth considering mounting the brake on the left side?
Does anyone have pictures of their front brake set up so I can see your housing curve? (I'm not having much luck browsing the forum)
I'm running tektro cross on Nitto bullhorn down to a 105 BTW.
