  • The big advantage of bib shorts is that they don't grip around your waist. So you don't end up with a bit around your waist which has been gratuitously destroyed during your ride. I have a pair of shorts that grip around my waist, and they're way less comfy than cheap bibs.

Just a comment about shoes - I bought a pair of the Specialized Sport BG SPD shoes about 6 months ago, and the cleat came off the bottom of one of them today, and seems to have stripped the thread in coming out - not sure I'd recommend them. (They're http://www.specialized.com/bc/SBCEqProduct.jsp?spid=33273).

  • I prefer shorts over bibknicks.

"pros where bibs"? tsk tsk bmmf.. captain alco pointing out captain librarian's typos :P

Pros wear whatever they're fscking given unless they win enough to command choice. Ignore what the pros do as it typically doesn't apply to normal humans.

  • yes drugs are bad. leave them to the pro's who know what they are doing with them.

  • sssasky - a good point well made. And i'm probably more of a recreational cyclist than you at the moment.

But...you'll still never seem me in a 'hybrid' shoe. Wear what you're comfortable in, I guess that goes for anything.

    B.

Thanks for the typo-tip-off, you fat cunt.

I'd rather pay attention to what the pros do, than what novice 'fixie' riders or fluoro nodders do ;)

BMMF bib shorts are on a bit tight this morning.;)

  • As a pedestrian, my dilemma is 'trunk' style boxers vs commando.

    You wanker.

Fair enough man. You should always absolutely wear what you are comfortable with.

And I didn't mean my post to come off like an attack. It wasn't personal. I just work in a shop that sells all types of clipless shoes, so I have a bit of a routine when it comes to explaining why anyone would want a 'hybrid' shoe when you can get more performance oriented ones for a similar price. And your 'truth' idea just got me going. neat concept, and something I think I apply in a lot of my daily life, without having labelled it before.

  • BMMF you pasty pedant.. yeah to an extent I agree. But why the fuck is this typing so slow .. what happened to my Firefox??! aarg ffs .. never mind

  • Fuck Firefox. I heart my Camino (which sounds like a Campag-Shimano hybrid).

  • for all the non-pedants out there, there's a firefox extension that lets you spell check fields like this.
i recommend it. it helps prevent typos.

    that is all.

  • I prefer to use the old-fashioned method of cross-referencing with my orthographic representations - it's less error-prone than spell-checkers, and staves off dementia.

    Luddenger.

  • i prefer to use the forum pedants
