And I don't like this "us and them" attitude from you. You're BRITISH now.
No more Neighbours, you can kiss goodbye to Alf Stewart, bin your sleeveless top and sing 'waltzing Mathilda' for the last time. -

I am so sick of the swimming. How many events do they need? It's so dull. They all do at least a couple of events, sometimes loads. Good at the 50m freestyle? Fuck it do the 100m and the 50m & 100m breaststroke too.

scrap the games as it stands, instead have one big fight - each country supplies its top athletes and a battle for last man standing in a hunger games/battle royale style. i would love to see the professional footballers diving and rolling around on the ground before the whistle is even blown

I'll go further - I'd like to see Andre Greipel stomping on their expressionless faces.

There are too many swimming events though. It fucks me off they keep claiming Phelps is the greatest Olympian when he has a chance to race 8 events that are the same thing.
They got rid of the Kilo and IP for fuck sake! Butterfly, breaststroke and backstroke are all pointless and should be removed. Usain doesn't get to run the 100 backwards does he?

He wouldn't be arsed if he did. He'd be in Macdonalds laughing at them all making tits of themselves.

Lunch bill for 15 Olympic officials
OK, OK, OK...WTF!!
Flaws in the story.
1) Unverified account of the incident. It Opens as some friend of a friend account which is an automatic gobshite alert.
2) Unconfirmed veracity of the image
3) Unconfirmed claim that this is for a group of Olympic officials
4) Unconfirmed that if the image is real that this wasn't an error in submission
5) Unconfirmed that the bill has been submitted as an expense to the Olympics (or more specifically Locog). It could just be an act of generosity by a sponsor or rich Olympic officialIf you're going to say screw the Olympics, either be accurate or funny, preferably both.
Believing everything someone posts on Reddit = FAIL. You should read Neal Stephensons principle of Diax's Rake.

I would too, but I don't want to get my hair wet.

And the fact there has been a Brit appearing in most of the finals is also very positive. Despite the lack of actual medals

They aren't nearly as many cycling events though. And it doesn't go on and on with the same people competing endlessly for a whole week.
The cycling's much more dynamic and varied, Keirin, individual & team sprints/pursuits etc. Swimming's all basically a beep test with arbitrarily different strokes.
They just need to wipe out about 10 events that's all.
The numbers:
There's 14 road & track cycling disciplines in total (inc. bmx & MTB it's 18) versus 34 for swimming (inc. synchronised swimming it's 36).
Cut it in half and stop giving USA an easy 10 gold medals
Ron Webb? Not quite sure how he fits in with your myopic rants. He's a bloke that gets paid to build tracks. Tracks that all nations get to ride on, he's not a part of GB Cycling's structure.
