Gary? He's a bit to rapey for my liking. I was in his bar when it got done over by 2 guys with shotguns. We found out later it was 2 dodgy cops.
He now has a members bar on Kingsland road and an arts venue in Shoreditch.
Is that the yellow door (well before you get to the Haggerston)?

The other partner in the studio moved to Ramsgate in an attempt to bring flat whites, cupcakes, craft beer and clanky indie pop to the far Kent coast. If the regular mentions of his cafe, recording studio and live music venue I hear on 6music are anything to go by... he's getting it done too.
where in ramsgate?

To be fair they're not even close to hipsters, they've just lovely, talented and unbelievably hardworking people. But I can see that from the outside they might well look like the shock troops of hipsterfication. They did this:

And this:

He's an old friend, one half of the indie-pop geniuses behind one of my favourite bands: http://hexicon.bandcamp.com/ he now plays drums in Allo Darlin' and with Darren Hayman.
He ran Soup studios http://www.soupstudio.co.uk/ in Hanbury St. with Simon Trought until they got booted out of the basement of the Uke shop.
Mikey's long term plan was to open a new residential studio with a cafe attached in Ramsgate. Not sure how the studio's coming on but the Cafe and music venue seem to be getting on well.
Marc Riley's always been a fan of Hayman and the Wave Pictures (another Fortunapop family connection) for ages but has recently latched onto Allo Darlin' as well and has been down to several gigs and been on about it on the radio. I wish them the best of luck with it all.
