I just discovered that clicking on the attachment paperclip pops up a window showing all of the attachments in a thread.
Did anyone else know it did that? Does anyone ever use that?
Yes, I love that function. I've always thought it should be available in the User CP listing, too.

Hey Mods, why don't you nominate Oliver the tutor of the nursery?
?
-
• #2304
You always worry so much about the nursery and the rules that I thought you might enjoy to be locked in as you will have a lot of things to explain to the new members.

I always use the 'down arrow' to right-click and open threads.
It has the same functionality as the thread title currently though (it could work harder).
JonoMarshall is correct.
The down arrow serves no purpose, as the thread title on an unread thread has exactly the same behaviour (take you to the first unread post), and on a read thread the down arrow isn't shown (not applicable).
It can be removed without affecting functionality at all.

good stuff david, loving the changes.

Looking much better on my BB browser.
Mucho faster too

I've used the little buttons above to make an image a link, but I'm geting the end of the IMG tag appearing too. Works, but slightly messy.

Also, all the new design changes are super! Really feel like its gone from being simple to being simple but well thought out :)
Also also, what design version are you at? I stuck with V2 as I found it easier to use than V3, but I can't find anything to change them now, did it all get rolled into one again?

I've disabled version 3.
Rolling some of the principles of it into this version (2).
I think with the link confusion, you were being overly complex. Wrapping an image in a link which belongs to an affiliate so it gets re-written.
The new site is going to use Markdown to format posts... keep things really simple. You shouldn't need to wrap images with links, just put the link up and put the image up.

Starting to like the new look, with the dividing lines! Makes everything a lot more readable. Still maintain my opinion about the grey highlighting* but it's nothing in the grand scheme of things, and I'm not calling it offensive or anything ;)
*highlight is how I'd describe it, even though I guess it's not highlighting anything as such.

Can we keep the underlining of hyperlinks in posts? The black and blue aren't that distinguishable at first glance, and the underlining is a way of showing that there's links to be followed.
Post 2375 above is a good example, as it's not immediately obvious that it's a link rather than text he's posted.

^ Agreed.
New icon positioning is much more useable, like it.
-
• #2313
On the new icon cluster... I've tried to keep them as a grid.
i.e. attachments are always upper left, sticky always bottom right, etc.
This way, even without our eyes identifying which icons are visible, we're able to use the white space hints to very quickly determine what they are.
So we should, once we get used to it, be able to scan the list fast and still make sense of that stuff.

Underlines for the links within posts have returned.
-
• #2315
You'd need to clear cache, force refresh, of whatever... to see the latest version.
-
• #2316
It looks like they're back everywhere except the home page. I like the absence of them in thread lists, but in posts, they are useful.
fixed now

• #2317
Love the new icon setup, however there now feels like a lot of white space between the icons and the text
-
• #2318
I wanted just enough space that it didn't merge into a jagged left hand side.
So that you can still follow the vertical created by the thread titles.
I think it's just about right.
In fact... I'm going to stop and say it's done and try not to touch anything until the new site comes along in 9 months to a year.
This one is about as good as it gets.

• #2319
Good. I like.
-
• #2320
As do I, looks really nice and clean, very easy to read and use. Can't wait for the finished package in 9 months.

• #2321
You'll all hate me.
It will be very different.
It has to be, the functionality will change so dramatically that what works at the moment won't work in the future.

I find it's the users who really let this place down.
Will user content be improved with the finished product? -

Whatever next?

I find it's the users who really let this place down.
Will user content be improved with the finished product?Saying 'user content' is superfluous, because all the content is user generated. It's just 'content', you massive cunt.

Did clicking on the thread title always take you to "first unread post"? I was just getting hot and bothered about loosing that little arrow. Have I just been being a massive idiot or is this new?
