you don't need to analyse it. if it works to slow you down you're ok.

I prefer swinging to the right, than the left,
Liberal Democrat?

I dress to the left. Does that mean my sink drains clockwise?

Sweet. I was well chuffed when I nailed my first skid. I don't mind red lights now - it's an excuse to skid.
Til I have to replace my Specialized Armadillo rear tyre

zazkar, are u still have trouble skidding or have u solved the issue now? how long have u been riding fixed for? the one bit of advice that clinched it for me, when learning to skid, was being told to pull up on ur front pedal pretty hard. it's a pretty obvious thing to do when u know it but isn't completely obvious to all.

I have to dab my front brake and lean my weight forward slightly in order to pull a skid.
I prefer swinging to the right, than the left, when I skid.
Am I normal?
Tell me about your mother...

wired.com - here to help...apparently?
http://howto.wired.com/wiki/Stop_a_Fixed_Gear_Bicycle
I have no idea why wired are teaching people to stop bicycles, fixed or otherwise? I guess things were pretty quiet on the technology news front that day?

Abandoned parking lots and indoor cycling tracks are some of the best locations.
So where exactly are these "cycling tracks" where you can practice skidding? It sounds as if they're suggesting there is an abundance of them all over the city!

**step 5: Fill out a living will **
when you have worn a bare spot in your tire and you get a flat while trying to balance your collection of macbooks in your messenger bag, you will probably fall, slide under a delivery van, and get killed. Be sure to specify who you want to inherit your paul cranks, brooks saddle, and chris king headset... You don't want that stuff going into probate.
wtf?

Pretty satisfying, thought they were impossible, then talked to chailplin, who simply said push down and pull up with alternate feet.
Good fun, can actually stop my bike with pedal power.
However my foot managed to slip out of the strap one time, and now I have a big bloody toe, which I smacked on my pedal.
So in summation, a happy day, albeit a painful one. I feel like a real boy now.
