Thanks for organising and encouraging go to Jw + Db.. I had fun - so many new faces?!
I am not chatting up those schoolgirls in the group photo.
Alex(asm), brian, lucky7, Stewart, et al, it was nice to meet you peeps.
I ducked off from Rotherhithe with PutneyStewart as I was MTBing the next morning.
Embankment was closed to cars because of the bra-walkers - and trafficless streets all the way to Ken high street + surrounded by women - amazing! -

dale when you planning the next one!!!!!
You know it makes sense!
Dale has organized two in a row now. They do end up taking a fair bit of effort, expecting one person do it all the time is a bit much. Anyone is welcome to come up with an idea for a ride and put one together, there is nothing stopping anyone. We have had a two bridges rides, a docklands ride, monopoly ride secret London ride. Maybe a murders and mysteries ride would make a good theme, or a ride which visited sites form a classic book. Who knows anyone can come up with a them and organize it.

Thanks to all of you who made it a GREAT night. Corny you missed a blinder mate.
Highlights: City cops, asking 'is this an organised ride?' two people saying 'errr no' two people saying 'errr yes'... asking what cycle club we were... answer? ''HTFUCC, officer.''... Saint Paul's steps... Clerkenwell road girl screaming at us... Greenway: riding up the assault course one handed holding the Lech with the other, singing the theme to KickStart!... and that pumping station that looked like the Brighton Pavilion (sorta)... laughs at the river stop (cheers Cashew Robin, your new nickname lucky7?)... the tunnel!! ... the nice swedish church stop ... Ma3k[3] thanks for sharing such fine whisky ...the smooth roads in south London (I gotta move to south London!) ... the fast bits and good riding thereupon... and OBVIOUSLY the inspiring marathon women in their pink finery along the river - made us look positivley lazy, 26 mile walk in the middle of the night, for charidee... and pretty much bombing home losing everyone along the way, guess it happened to everyone... Playswell you OWE ME BAD... Sano wha'ppen?
I had NO IDEA how pissed I was till I woke up the next morning. Scary.

Brilliant ride. Cheers Dogs for organizing it and everyone else for making it such a laugh.
Hope everyone who crashed has recovered especially Pilky who was right behind me when it happened. I heard this almighty crash just to my right. You must have been going at some speed. Hope you have recovered now. I managed to bend my forks quite badly when I hit a step. What sort of idiot would put a step right in the middle of the Thames Path I ask?
Anyway, hats of to Cotic, I rang them this morning and they have assured me a new pair will be arriving before Friday and covered under warranty. So only a few days off. -

"You bent your fork how?!?"
;)
On The Rotherhithe stretch, when we got onto the Thames path.I found myself at the front with a lovely stretch in front of me. Well being the idiot I am i decide to accelerate as fast as I could. The path went under this building and this fucking step appeared from nowhere. I was going too fast so I attempted to jump it but caught my wheel bore the brunt of it. I dont get how I stayed on the bike. But I knew there was something wrong with the bike instantly. Jim pointed out the problem with the forks. Had to slow it down from then onwards due to very unpredictable handling. That will teach me not to be such a cock! Yeah right!!

Yeah, I know. Shit deal, but nice that the warranty has got it covered!
You just looked rather unimpressed in that picture while everyone was having a good laugh. I was feeling a bit like Paul Merton - inventing a caption at the end of an episode of "Have I Got News For You."

Good ride all, thoroughly enjoyed it.
Too many highlights to mention but big thanks to Dale for sorting another great ride. Can’t believe how many people were there. If it was 63 it felt more.
Just looking at these posts I am seeing comments from people who I know but didn’t even get a chance to talk to on the ride. Or I don’t remember talking to due to the concoction of Guinness, cider, red wine, mojito, whiskey, and just high on life adrenalin.
I rode the route again yesterday to help shake off the hangover. Funny doing the route in the day time. It felt like it never happened but now and again some clues. Mainly things like loads of skid marks on that ped bridge by hackney wick, and again in Greenwich before we joined creek road.
Hope all those who had the offs heal quick, and same for the mechanicals.
We didn’t quite live up to the 1000 punctures tag but proud we gave it a go.
See you on the next one l’s and g’s.

Video! Anything in the foot tunnel?
a little but the surface was so uneven causing alot of shake and combined with trying to avoid any collisions not alot of footage came out good....it'll be up later.

A highlight for me was that Barney (not sure of your forum name) taught me how to skid, which was ace. Even better is the fact that I have remembered and aquired a new skill, thanks for that man.

you are welcome.
i was somewhere at the back on the way to the isle of dogs when the guy i was riding with got a flat. we fixed it and he went home and me not being a londonenenenger i had no idea where the route went so i had to retire back to where i was staying. pretty miffed at missing the tunnel ride and staying to the end to chat to more people but in all it were still fuckin ace to come along. thanks to the organisers and all those that turned up and put a smile on my face. i'll be back again.
@object.. hope the uni works out fine and dandy. nice to put a name to a face. cheers.
