  • it's fair ennough though, i was at spitalfields yesterday and fixed wheel bikes were by far the most common. i'm sure of it. every other rider was on one. why buy a hybrid when you can ride a charge plug?

big-ups for the monopoly ride, woot :)

  • "this...is a fixie... which means it's got no freewheel and you have to use your legs to brake"

Or either of the two brake levers clearly attached to his bars. Amayzing.

  • Come on it was not that bad, it was a short segment, boaring but it was a small slot in the evening news.

  • ha ha ha

just sw the dvert on bbc news...

"free wheeling is for whimps! we explore the pheromone of the fixie"

  • pheromone?!

    phenomenon.

  • I find it so funny that we're so eager to slag off any kind of recognition of our beloved bikes/culture/whatever by 'outsiders'. do we think that bikes are a good idea or not? are we worried that it'll become a trend (it already has)? what is the problem? i know it's a bit embarassing to watch but who cares?

  • "Paul and Caspar where among the first people to ride fixed gear bikes on the road"

Guys, you both look good for your age ;-)

  • No, I know the thread.. I was jokingly agreeing that couriers = curryers.. nevermind I was laughing in my disturbed brain space :)

  • I don't think it's bad. It's f*cking geeky. Big-arse cycling nerds. Not at all cool. = works for me. certainly doesn't make me want to get out to the shops and buy a "fixie" . What's with the "through the wheel" angle. GEEKS! I like the disappearing components too. Who was this made for Sesame Street?!
