• thanks Steve for the great post! Nice to get some feed back :)

  • Steve, thanks for taking the time to post such an honest and considered response. Why can't all noobs be like this?

And, if for no other reason than this post, the Coach has to win the best bike friendly pub award.

  • And for all of you who say G doesn't have a sense of humour......

BTW, I'm the little good lookin cunt

  • Cheers steve, I occasionally drop in and enjoy the burgers.

Wasn't there last night, but I understand that everyone make mistakes and am glad to hear that you value our custom, as we value your pub.

Thank you and as we SE have found a pub as good as yours in central SE london is hard to find. Fancy opening one just for us ;)

  • I can only add to the thanks Steve. I haven't been able to make monday nights recently and couldn't last night either but I can't say a bad work about all the weeks & months that I did turn up!

    Long live the C&H!

  • I kinda like communist beer tbh, but like it when the people sitting next to me are being fed so they don't steal my chips.

Steve, I don't know if anyone has pointed out to you that you are winning the pole for best cycle friendly pub? Very exciting time for south london, my bike shop (Brixton Cycles) is doing quite well too. (despite the fact that I think having an awards thingy for a forum is dumb)

  • Joe Smith - I owe you a pint. Maybe two for keeping things simple.

    i'll take two...

good to see you again last night katie p (hehehe). was good to meet a fellow south beers virgin.

good to see everyone else too. i think i got to speak to most people and everyone made me feel welcome.

i must have been pretty lucky with the bar as i had no major delays. will be sampling a burger next time.

hillbilly - hope your mouth is not too sore now... have a codeine for me.

  • good people, it seems like the race is getting close in the awards, lets make sure souths comes out on top, vote now all you who've been to souths and enjoyed yourselves...

  • Yeah, do what the man says... Let's wrap this thing up, sarf style...

  • Hey Steve good to see you on here. I dont think you have anything to worry about we all love your pub and the fact that you keep going out of your way to keep us lot happy, like letting us have BBQ's, the room up stairs to watch the tour and having a cake party is enough to let us all know that you really do appreciate us coming back. We all miss you and are looking forward to your return on Monday.

Long live The coach and horse's!!

  • With that said, as many of you know its my birthday on Thursday(yay). But I have stupid teeth( or rather had a stupid tooth) that got infected, which means I cannot drink till Sunday! So what I would like to do is highjack South drinks and use it to celebrate my 26th year. Nothing special, just maybe a few people who wouldn't normally come along drinks, like my Dad and a few others.

I hope no one minds and if you do....... come along anyways.

  • Stupid tooth is out then Jim? Hurrah. I'll buy you an Addlestones to celebrate on Monday.

  • Awesome, I love your dad...

    Yours, Grandad fiddler...

  • Tooth is out! But the drugs they gave me when they took it out have messed me up real good.

My Dad is very excited to come down and see everyone again, I think he's going to ride down so he can have a drink or 2 so be ready for some story telling again.

  • Cheers all for kind words...have had a meeting with James today to discuss this amongst other stuff and there will be no repeat, I guarantee.

I am in SW4 Monday night and anyone I owe stuff to (Jim, Sam, Mark etc) come and say hi, it's been a while. Your birthday did you say Jim? Hmmmmmmmm.

Looking forward to it. I shan't be on here as much as some of you lot seem to be, partly because I am stupidly busy, partly because I don't own a bike, but I will be making more regular appearances on Monday nights from now on, as will James.

Big love from all at The Coach.

    S

  • This just might make me resurface.................

  • What a top pub. Thank you steve.

  • i'm so in for next week.

  • .

  • Anyone? I would appreciate the lone. I am hopefully getting a replacement BB sent next week, and need to fit it before Friday.

VeeVee will pick it up as it is unlikely that I will make it down due to work getting all FUBAR and shit.

    Cheers

  • Hi chaps, I was just wondering what the format for these evenings is? I'm from the glasgow forum and will be down in the new year some time and I was thinking of coming along to meet some fellow forum-/fake-/messenger bag but no justification for it-engers. Is it a ride and beers thing or is it just to meet up and have a few drinks. I await some form of "welcome to the forum" flaming with baited breath.

  • Cycle to pub, drink, slalom home.

There are a few "Compass rides" from time to time which is where several drinks regulars will meet before drinks at Trafalgar Square so that newbies can meet there and don't have to worry about finding the pub.

  • Turn up at the pub, drink beer, cider, G or what ever you want, talk shit and then try and ride home without dieing.

  • Cool, that sounds like a fine idea. I'll keep my eyes open for such a ride nearer the time. Thanks for the information.
