Yeh he rang me this morning, apologised - but said that is should be fairly easy to fix if we just open up the rear hole a bit with the drill, he's happy for Jim to have a crack at it and has said that if it doesn't work he'll replace the forks.
His explanation was that he couldn't drill it straight through because the fork crown wasn't flat, so had to drill them separately - he says sometimes it happens, and that it should be very easily rectified, with either a drill or a file.
I'm slightly disenamoured by the whole thing as I've paid a fuck load of money and expected it to be right - but I guess mistakes happen.
I had a little ride outside last night brakless and it is lovely though - have also ordered the stem I want and longer brake lever, so hopefully if I can get Jim on board this week it will have its full premier at Souths BBQ.
