or you could suggest starting the meeting now, as "it's a beautiful evening and I am sure you would much rather enjoy it than be stuck in the office"

I will not work for free.

At my last firm one year, after recieving criticism of my strict timekeeping I explained that the reason other people stayed late was that either they or their managers weren't capable of doing their jobs properly within proper hours, and it was to be seen as a failure, not a success. I on the other hand was highly effective and got twice the work that anyone else did whilst still turning up and nine and leaving at five on the dot, and I suggested they look at my results. That year it was announced that nobody was getting a payrise, and I got 10% plus a bonus.

Yeah so I can't argue about working for free... I work when I want and make allowances for stupid things like this happening. It's just annoying as I wanted to goto the pub (although still am)
