I've been there already. Nobody's there. Pity.
Now I'm going to pick up Frania from the nursery (her first day full time!) and then cook dinner. I don't think I'll be free this evening. -

Is Ipswich in there? If not it bloody well should be.
-
• #8129
By "there" I meant Britannia, not yeovil.

Other people work during the day Kris. Of course we're not there.
Or do you mean a surprising lack of yummy mummies? -
• #8131
Hey I'm from Ipswich!!!
-
• #8132
I should have been the one to say that!

They're all watching the tennis..

Wouldn't surprise me. A colleague of mine was desperate no to know the score and told us not to tell him. Big mistake. :-)

• #8136
I'm a no show sorry.
-
• #8137
Too much without eating properly....
Oh. So who is the Lynx I am sitting talking to at Easts right now?
-
• #8138
Sorry I didn't make it. Ended up with Joe/Betty at the opening of the new Craft Beer Co pub in Clerkenwell. 20+ Ales on tap. Fantastic selection (although the chocolate stout at the end was a bit much, oh and the 13% stout as well!).
I'll be there next week, promise. well maybe, hot chicks keep asking me out (Betty started it!).

Twas a quite a nice (and exclusive) evening, first time at the new (to me) pub and I can honestly say that it's the most awesome drinks pub i've ever been to. How it isn't rammed full of you trendy fixie skidders every Wednesday night i'll never know. See you folks next week.

because it doesn't sell PBR, and is too expensive and not ironic enough
-
• #8141
Most of the drinks pubs are far from cheap, Wests and Norths are both quite expensive, South Easts and Souths aren't exactly bargain prices either. But to be able to have a huge garden to keep your bikes and relax with a bunch of awesome like-minded folk, surely that's worth an extra 20p a pint.

Heh that's cheap... the Craft Beer Co, well we were on 4quid a HALF pint beer. It was awesome, but I'm not so sure about cracking out 8quid a pint.
-
• #8143
ooh, going anywhere nice?
"I'm on a boat"

It's like insurance

Indeed, i'd rather spend my money at The Britannia rather than go to some cheap place, get wasted and come out missing a bike.
Like I said it's only my first time at the place, but it's definitely up there (possibly better) than The Greyhound that Wests used to reside at. And they let us have trackstand competitions in the pub, play arse darts, let us hide each other's bikes in the toilets and gave us cheap beer and food (including bananas wrapped in pancakes with chocolate on top)
...fucking hell i'm hungry now.
-
• #8146
Me too.
Beats me why on a beautiful sunny day in huge garden of a really great pub people aren't all over the joint.
Still their loss innit.
-
• #8147
so I know most of you have forgotten who I am, but I will make an appearance tomorrow!
Cigar, food, and no-beer (boo)... but still 2 out of 3 isn't bad!
-
• #8148
Oh. So who is the Lynx I am sitting talking to at Easts right now?
Your imaginary one.
-
• #8149
Oh as a possibilty, not drinking still.
-
• #8150
I may be there... But I have forgotten what Kirth looks like, it has been so long. Seems I've forgotten what Lynx looks like too, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. ;o)
I used to live near Yeovil - top hit when googling crap towns!!
