heck yeah! haaa.
tips to achieving a spectacular result, such as mine:
- don't read the manifest, just go! who cares if you know where you're going?
- chat with bike shop workers
- stop and chat on the side of the road with vinylpimp
- ride around the westferry roundabout no less than 5 times
- be really slow in general
- go to tower bridge
- always miss your turn
- be the only girl in the girls category
etc.
great job and thanks a lot somebody... really, really fun night!

Real sad I had to bail on this one, I was tight on time anyways but didn't allow for a late start which meant I had to go pretty much as it started to get to my mates birthday bash.
if you get your manifest back to somebody (next week / before the start of stage 2) you can have some points towards general classification.

tour of east london 2009 stage 1.
note - hillbilly was not feeling so good. but no problems. he can get his points later in the season.
it is envisaged there will be eight stages through the summer and riders' best five scores count towards general classification. 20 points for a win. 19 points for second etc. separate guys and gals categories.
it is proposed that the stages will take place on the last wednesday of each month. assemble at the pub at 2000 hrs for a 2030 hrs start.
non riding volunteers needed. pm somebody.

If anyone wants something to do before Easts tonight (1st April, and it's not an April Fool's joke ;) ):
Final reminder that the at the Hackney Cyclists' meeting today we will have Andrew Boff, the Mayor's Ambassador for Championing Cycling in London giving us a talk.
Andrew Boff is a Hackney resident and an active member of the Broadway Market Traders' and Residents' Association. He publishes EASTeight magazine, which many of you will have seen. He is a London Assembly Member for the Conservative Party and a member of the Transport Committee.
This will be an informal talk and question and answer session. We will have a few refreshments and soft drinks.
The talk will be at Hothouse, Freeform Arts Trust, 274 Richmond Road, E8. The distinctive building is on London Fields, but the entrance is from Richmond Road next to the railway arch. You can bring your bicycles into a secure yard. It should be easy to find: http://www.freeform.org.uk/contact_details.htm
The event starts at 7:30 pm.
Hope to see you there!
