That's a classy way of activating a power up.

Neither do I. I don't win either.

I could dig through the thread/read all the boring bikeradar articles on what the best budget turbo setup is. But:
I have £25 Amazon voucher. What fan do I buy?
Please and thank you

If you want very effective, compact but ugly: Vacmaster Air Mover.
-
• #3456
I'd agree with this, I would have preferred them to be just plain black, but so much air moved.
Honeywell HT900 is a good fan for about £25 especially pointed at your body, and alot quieter than other options
If you have space, though depending on how hot you run, you might want a floor fan, as they are a lot more powerful (but noisy) -

Yeah I got the Honeywell first, but better as a secondary fan. Or in winter only.
-
• #3458
Another vote for Vacmaster air mover, really good and powerful.

Cheers. Friend shared this one with me if you wanted a black version? Looks similar to Vacmaster: https://www.amazon.co.uk/XPower-Mighty-Utility-Outdoor-External/dp/B08DXTL1H5/ref=mp_s_a_1_14?dchild=1&keywords=floor+fan&qid=1610801904&sprefix=floor+fa&sr=8-14

I got a small toolstation number for 18£. it seems ideal to me, and I run hot. I 've only ever run it on the 2nd setting out of 3 and it seems perfect. I do still sweat a ton though
edit: for those who need a fan but don't have amazon vouchers, obv...

buy 3 pack of vacmaster, you wont regret in summer just as a general fan in the house
-
• #3462
I've got Vacmaster in front and Honeywell in the back and it's a great combo!
-
• #3463
For the VacMaster, code trainerroad10 should get you 10% off.

I have an 18" gym fan. And I'll have bigger if I had the space, high intensity stuff is a lot more manageable.

Turbo advice thread?
Why do I keep getting punctures on my turbo?
How the fuck do I avoid getting any more? (Apart from a direct drive turbo)
-
• #3466
Tube getting too hot maybe? Lower pressure?
-
• #3467
Where are they? Tube - inside or outside? Same spot every time? Near valve? Find a pattern and there's your source.
-
• #3468
Seams of the tubes split.

What tyre?
-
• #3470
I hadn’t pumped it for a couple of weeks but was still very firm.
-
• #3471
I am shocked to know that you dont have a direct drive trainer!
-

also MTB on turbo .. Saris H3, officially doesent support 12 speed unless I get XD freehub and cassette but I solved that with a cheap aliexpress 12 speed cassette that mounts on 11 speed freehub.
How do I use the last 3 cogs though, the shadow(?) mech goes quite 'tall' when shifting into those last gears and hits the ground ?!? I was thinking about doing some Zwift for lols instead of ERG all the time.

Am a basic bitch, mine is a very old Tacx vortex smart turbo. The frustrations of punctures could lead me to migrate. Though other half had been threatening to start using the turbo - we set her old hybrid up and she did a couple of sessions but hated it. Given her bike is 9spd and my turbo bike is 10spd a direct drive trainer was not going to work for both of us.
Tacx is ok but can’t handle sprints at all.

9 to 10 speed is a cheap problem to have!
Glad its not 11 and 12, thats a whole new level of fuckery.
Get a direct drive turbo, you use it fair bit, you wont regret.

What is a good tyre that isn't a turbo specific tyre? These crack and split like fuck
"race" on Zwift. LOLz
No, I don't drop my weight 30kg and miscalibrate my turbo so I can swing my dick at the TV screen when I "beat" some random fucker in Canada.
