This is quite good, not even so much for the 'covers', but the naff titles/likely content:

"Sixty-Six Years As A Cycle Tourist".
Somewhat niche I suspect but I have got a number of copies of an out-of-print book (1994 edition) about cycling touring from the nephew of the (now deceased) author if anyone is interested. It's not exactly gripping stuff but it is an often fascinating window on a world now long gone.
"Cliff Pratt's" was just the local cycle shop in Hull when I was growing up but he was also a pioneer in cycle touring in the 1930's, a big noise in the CTC after the War and a lifelong Wheelman. He also dabbled in grass Bike Polo..
Price is as per the overprice - £9.50 (plus postage if required)

Awaiting delivery of Finding Ultra which I've heard is quite good once you get used to ignoring his repeated sales pitches for the Vitamix blender.
Hmm. Mixed feelings about it now that I've finished it. Happy I've read it though.
Currently 3/4 of the way through the Brownlee's Swim Bike Run bought for me by Mrs GB.
Will go back to my "must read/finish" pile and ignore the sports related books after these two.

Love Ballard.
I just picked picked up a reissue copy of Nairns Britain from a nice little anarchist(y) bookshop in Kings Cross. If you know nothing about architecture but might be interested in it and you don't know him already check out Ian Nairn on youtube/ iplayer and then buy his book. He is great.

Because the author was a selfish arse turned triathlete (so still a selfish arse just less dangerous to others) and the whole book is an annoying world of veganism and magic seaweed blender sales pitch pile of shite.

The anarchy bookshop at Kings Cross looks like one of those shops that's been there since time began, and that'll stay there long after the Rapture's been and gone. Heroic. It's being gradually surrounded by poncy coffee shops and I'm not completely sure how I feel about the matter.

Because the author was a selfish arse turned triathlete
It's the "regular couch potato guy who turned himself into a top athlete" line that particularly annoyed me. As if all "regular couch potato guys" just happened to have swam to national squad standards in their youth.
Just wait for my book: How an average lazy fat middle-aged ex-40-a-day-smoker who drank too much turned himself into a bog standard average triathlete (if he actually bothers to do one) who still drinks too much. Alternative title: Endurance Idiot.
Swim Bike Run done. Enjoyed it mostly. Looking forward to something non-sporty to read. Might have to go back and finish off Never Let Me Go.

Yeah, and look at his 'before' photo. He's got less body fat on him in that than I do now ffs.

Does anyone use any of the audio book download services? If so, any recommendations / pros / cons etc? They all look pretty similar to me.

Audible seems to be the go to one.
There's plenty of codes online for a free trials/money off. I listen to a lot of podcasts and they're always advertising on there with free trial + a free book if you use a code.

Karl Ove Knausgård - yay or nay?
Fancy something new.
not so much a phase as a realisation that events of nearly 50 years ago are still triggering unreasonable behaviour patterns.
