  • where do we get it?
    amazon?
    publishers site?
    bet its shit

  • Definitely shit.

It'll be on Amazon Kindle, priced $2.90 or something. Minimum price I could put it, but it's 85000 words of pure filth!

I'll pop a link on when it goes live.

  • you might have to email it me but Il paypal you five dorrars for the pleasure,
Eightball showed me that Bill Drummond Bad Wisdom , My eyes were watering -youd love it GL

  • I shall post that paragraph from Bad Wisdom later. Pretty much sums the book up.

  • Ace! I'm reading loads at the moment, writing lots too. I've got enough for a small book of fiction short stories, but I'm wanting to finish this other thing I'm working on.

Bill Drummond is becoming something of a hero to me - a totally original human being.

  • go on EB post that sequence,
    I dare ya

  • nooooooooooooo

  • he he he. Best paragraph ever written!

  • Bloody Hell! That doesn't put the brakes on, does it??

Horrible but funny! What's the deal with the book? Fiction or a fabrication on truth?

  • Definitely downloading your book GL.

Started on the fiction again, a nice bit of John Wyndham.

  • Its an account of a trip to the North Pole to plant a statue of Elvis, to spread cosmic love along the world's lay lines. It's written by Bill and Mark Manning although its hard to differentiate between the two, and the non- linear style makes it even more difficult to follow. There are passages of beautiful prosaic descriptions of the countryside and customs of the places they pass through which then turn into ultra violent fantasies generally involving sex with lesbian school girls/vampires/nuns/gestapo guards and lots of defecation, drinking, ejaculation and violent insertions.

A bit like a sadistic Robert McFarlane

  • Last night I tried to buy a book on my Kindle. All the books it recommended for me were based upon my recent downloads of cheap or free classics of ancient literature and philosophy. All a little too esoteric for my present mood. I need a good novel. Modern Booker standard. Last year I down loaded most of the Booker long list which was excellent. Looked through the top selling lists and really don't fancy mummy porn which is all that appears there. Any suggestions for good recent books greatly appreciated.

    Question

Tomorrow my e-book is out! A compilation of my blog stories. I hope all you Kindle types might download a copy an maybe even give me a review.

    Answer

  • Too kind!

All from the blog, I'm afraid, but hopefully the convenience of an e-book will attract a few new readers.

  • I've never read an ebook and don't have the facility, are you going to make any out of paper?

I'm currently reading Brideshead Revisited. I've read and enjoyed all of his 'funny' books but approached this with trepidation after reading certain bits of criticism from George Orwell, among others.

So far, I love it. It seems to capture that world, of posh aesthetes who have 'gone up' to Oxford, so well that you don't need to be able to appreciate what he's on about at all to become completely immersed in it. The sense of nostalgia and regret that come through are beautifully created as well.

  • I'm actually just working out costs and laying out a mock up for a traditional paper copy. I'll keep you posted!

  • I've started Ulysses.
    The rain is falling again.
    Could be away some time.

  • good luck, hope you get further than I did

  • shameless plug
