Recently started Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut. A bit boring so far, quite slow moving but I still have high hopes.

If you like Vonnegut, and haven't read it, read Mother Night. It's sooo good damnit!

^amazing book that one. I love it, wish I had a copy...
Right now ploughing through this:
I will savage it eventually, but this is the second 500+er on the trot, which in hindsight was a mistake. The whiney Turkish brat is beginning to rile me a little.

Whats The Museum of Inocence like? Ive got a copy of Snow sitting in my bookcase that hasnt been touched since I got it for Christmas in 2001.

It's good, I'm nearly 400 pages down but it needs time...the pace does not reward slipping in and out of it. A friend recommended Museum to me but did say it was a bit of a slog. I hadn't read any of his stuff so I was keen to try it - also based wholly in Turkey which is a place/culture I know nothing about, so there is also a lot of cultural learning packed in too. (That's what I'm telling myself.)

Fascinating and surprisingly relevant today.
Thanks to free books on Kindle.

Stupid Pony
The Tiger Who Came to Tea is, without a doubt, the greatest book for reading to young children. I recommend it to everyone whatever age.

Not a great fan of Palmuk no. Trying too hard methinks. Doesn't flow. And the humour is repeaty.

Watching the English by Kate Fox. Some good insights into a strange and complex people...
It's a small step up from the classic Xenophobe Guides, which I quite enjoy.

If that's your cup of tea you should try reading The English: A Portrait of a People by Jeremy Paxman.
I found it far more enjoyable than Watching the English. -

You saying that all poindexters are posh kids too?
How the fuck would I know?
What's a 'poindexter'?
Currently reading 'The $50 & up Underground House Book' by Mike Oehler. Pretty inspirational architecture and design, and some awesome theory to boot.
