  • Here is my project - it was done on a budget and hasn't turned out exactly how I wanted it to.

Going to start a new project with bit more money - ideally would like a track frame with a sloping angled top tube (angled down) with less clearance on the wheels and ideally a smaller front wheel than on the back, as a newbie can you offer any suggestions ?

So porn was the wrong place, anti porn is closer but still the wrong place. Try Current projects maybe?
The frame you are after is a lo-pro, search around on that and you should find some examples.

  • And that looks to have masssive clearances because you are using 700C wheels on it, and it is designed for 27". Sorry if I'm wrong though?

You may well be right - as I said in a previous post I am a newbie and bought the wheels separate from the frame (which cost me £20 and a mate painted it)

The bike is a dog's dinner and I want to start again, so likely will sel the parts separately on eBay.

I've seen a lot worse than this, and it's not anti. Keep it as a pub bike

  • it just seems cyclope dont always get it right

  • If that was all black it'd be ace

Fuck, that is on par with pengy imo. It makes me feel sick,

nefarious - i doubt any hipster worth his salt would touch this monstrosity.

Nasty. But with a nice rack.*

*I'm trying to think of a person for whome would be a good analogy. But I can't. Sorry

  • You need to ask?

  • well, it has been posted here more than twice

    Is this anti?

Feck, that startled my eyeballs :(

    Needs red grips.

    Mariah Carey?

  • Haha! Bang on, Olly398!

  • whats so anti about that haj?

  • Yeah, can't see the problem with that. The wheels are okay. It could be anti easily enough, especially with that frame colour as a starting point but too early yet.

  • The clearances are anti, given that the wheels are pure track wheels, so big tires are out of question.
I don't think I've ever seen such clearance on a track bike. Is that some kind of weird single speed MTB frame ?

  • @christofk - you do realise there are no tyres on those wheels don't you?

  • They are clincher wheels too, so if you put some 23's on they will fill the gaps a pretty substantial amount.

  • or better still get some 28s in there for a bit of extra comfort/grip.

christofk, just because they are track wheels doesn't mean you couldn't fit biggish tyres on them.

  • given that the wheels are pure track wheels,

I wish you'd told me that before I put 2000 road miles on mine.

  • Recent research by Trek has determined that close clearance actually hinder aerodynamic performance so maybe it's a speed thing?
