FGG don't even count anymore, just too damn obvious.

how can you do this to it??
Italian bikes should roll Campag - what years is this frame ? early nineties ?
This is a frame screaming Atlanta's or Shamals
Its lush though, the frame, I'd love one like that

it that a campag aero seat post in the pinarello? if so there cant be too much in the seat tube, what length is it? i'd be worried about cracking the frame.
-
• #6831
The Pinarello looks like a difficult frameset to work with aesthetically. The frame is oversized and modern looking yet the fork and quill stem seem at odds with it. So the modern wheels & cranks go well with the frame but not the fork/stem.

So mid/early 90s it is then.
-
• #6833
I think it's more late 1990s. I bought a road version of that frame in the same colour scheme in the spring of 1998.

• #6834
I think it looks wicked!
-
• #6835
that pinarello looks great i think, maybe some pursuit bars and a black seatpost
-
• #6836
Would defo look acer with Shamals/Ventos/Atlantas, Record track hubs and crank
-
• #6837
jeez... i never knew it would cause so much controversy.
the seatpost is inserted to just above the limit line... i'm going to switch it out for a thomson layback.
the wheels were chosen because they are good track wheels, not for aesthetics.
the cranks are just what i had spare, so i put them on.
the saddle is what i'm comfy with on the track.
i can't put pursuit bars on it, you have to have drops at HH.
sorry i pissed so many people off.... it's built for riding, not looking at.
-
• #6838
You've pissed me right off you squatty little fuck! Get a set of Shamals on it you cunt!
-
• #6839
I dunno what the fuss is about... looks like fun Spoops.
-
• #6840
It's all Murtle's fault.
Fuck the naysayers Rob, it looks fast and that's the main thing.
-
• #6841
I though it actually being fast was more important than it looking fast?
-
• #6842
Object makes a strong point.
-
• #6843
:)

I though it actually being fast was more important than it looking fast?
Not when you're a poseur like Rob. :P

• #6845
-
• #6846
i wasnt having a pop
i was just putting asthetic choices forward
as its for the track asthetics shouldnt even come into it -
• #6847
:-)
-
• #6848
Why shouldn't aesthetics count on the track?
If you've got something that you think looks good, then it's likely to give you a psychological advantage.
Think about pro tour riders and their custom paintjobs and then you've got the hours that go into designing the graphics and colourways for the trackies skinsuits.
Looking good is one step closer to the win.
IMO.
-
• #6849
psychological advantage?!
-
• #6850
Yes edscoble... If you know anything about sports psychology, then you would know that your mental state has a massive amount to do with how you perform.
Not sure if it's hugely important at spaghettihoops' level - it might be - but anyway, every little helps.
loving the seat position
