SRAM Universal Derailleur Hanger
Mounts derailleur inline with rear axle. -
• #48378
I think technically it replaces the universal derailleur hanger and clamps the rear mech directly to the frame.
SRAM t-type groupset, so only compatible with frames built with UDH compatible dropouts. -

So what's the idea with that? Build it beefy enough to withstand most prangs, or is it some sort of stupid self-destruct lever?

Derailleur hangers are about saving the frame in a prang mostly. Now it bolts straight to the bike by the rear axle so the frame isn't at risk of any bending. But yeah they're pretty beefy. There were several videos of people jumping up and down on the derailleur

The mech attaches either side of the frame. The top half of the mech with all the electronics and motors is really robust. If the cages get bent they are easily replaced.
The mechs are a piece of piss to set up as there are not even limit stops to set up. You will find loads of videos on MTB YouTube channels about them.
In addition the system shifts better under load than soft pedalling, so works amazingly well with e bikes where you are (if the motor is on) having your power supplemented.

I've tried reading that caption three times and it still feels like I'm having a stroke.

I think so. You can't really point and laugh so much when the culprit is in on the joke

Dislike these bikes anyway, but this one is up there with the worst.

@Colin_the_Bald @withered_preacher is it still not showing?
I don't know if i've saved your eyes from this one. -

My comment was on the supreme excellence of the 'camouflage'.

Mine was concerning the blue dress/gold dress thing.

The same-same aero formula with disc brakes makes me feel like an old fart stuck in the past; I just can't get on board with it.
But I actually like the paint on this one... Hating on whatever's going on with the bars though, and not keen on the sail behind the head tube...

When I was young and the Earths' crust had yet to cool, 'Ribble' was shorthand for a bunch of pipes welded together by whoever was nearest and given a fancy paint job. Seems that they have progressed to open mould Chinese carbon, with obligatory fancy paint job. Glitter on a turd anyone?

Bring back sperm helmets
That thing looks like complete arse, but what's going on with the RD? Has there been a new interface come along since (not so) direct mount?
