Ah that's a shame, I was curious about the reason behind it. Was it for a one handed person?
-
• #46578
I'm guessing not, due to the fact that the geared build had the shifter on the right hand side of the bars

Still can’t get over the fact that that you all are paying almost twice what it costs for All City over here.
-
• #46581
The build did cost over 5k 🤥, £1300 for the frame alone + £500 quid of accessories including a rock climbing helmet so £2500 is a fair price 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I paid £540 for my Mr Pink with Whisky forks, Silca frame pump and brand new paint job. Total build probably came to less than a grand, it's a bit less glamorous than their build but not 5 times less...

A fair price is what someone is prepared to pay for it. As there are comparatively few rock climbing partially sighted people without functional right hands, £2500 won't be it.

You in 'murka? Aren't On One similarly overpriced for you?
Think Surly do it as well.

I’ve never actually seen a On One for sale over here. The old Mary bars were priced about the same as any other alt bars.
But like seriously £11oo wasn’t that getting close to the price of an OTP Bob Jackson?

Well that seems more then reasonable.

For us Mary are £30, PX also have Nitto stuff cheap but from anywhere else Nitto Albatross are £60-70. Surly Open and Salsa Bend Deluxe from bikemonger are £65 and £72 so On One are defo the ‘cheap’ option.
Bob Jackson site is getting redone so can’t check prices but I’m sure you’d have gotten a fair chunk of change from £1100 for most of their framesets.

So Mary’s were about $45 usd when I remember them being sold in the US, this was around 2010 when the exchange was close to 1.5, so about £30.
Nitto Albatross are $68-$78 now, so £48-£55.
Surly Open bars are $55 (£39), Salsa Bend Delux are $75 (£54).
Those prices are closer to what I remember the most stuff in the US costing the same amount in £ from when I lived in London. Like a CD would cost $15 or £15 .
I seem to remember the prices from BJ to be around £750 but not including VAT.

This is a perfect example of a “snakey” comment the OP was worried about 😂

Stock pinarello, no?
-
• #46591
Give me a better description of someone who would want to spend £2500 on that particular machine and accessory list and I shall happily withdraw that comment. Are you by any chance the OP?
-
• #46592
nope not me was just taking the piss out of the OP not your comment which was very good ✌️.
The OP was moaning about “snakey” comments which made it all even more funny. -
