It's an unusual choice if frame building was all there was to it, but you don't know what other personal and business activities led to the level of indebtedness which made bankruptcy preferable to other solutions.

Feel bad for the guy.
I think TBA courses should come with a disclaimer saying “course will not automatically guarantee a successful career framebuilding” -
• #46229
Ha, true!
But you have to think that he was encouraged along the way after that.
Runner up position in Bespoked probably didn't help -

Not earning enough to pay all the other bills/existing debts, or just being financially over-optimistic I'd imagine.

But you have to think that he was encouraged along the way after that.
I dunno, that he’d have needed that.
He posts a fair bit in the Framebuilders group on Facebook and...well let’s just say, he loves the smell of his own shite.
He does not love when he gets asked about that other brand that makes/made a very similar shaped frame...

Odd that he isn't a millionaire, considering that he was a 'weight management and lifestyle consultant' as well as a gifted and perceptive bicycle frame creator.
Could someone please ask him in his 'weight management' capacity what his incomparably elegant frame weighs. I would like to compare the incomparable with what we might call 'a bicycle frame' in 531.....

I actually met the guy who does those, Age Mackenzie as he was there when i did my TBA course. He was nice enough, but eccentric as you'd expect. To be honest i really don't see the appeal of his frames at all. But they look painful to fabricate so ill give him that.

The whole group is comedy gold. Some prize wankers in there

So true. Sadly it has occasionally been a source of useful information so I’m loathe to leave it.

Yeah there is some useful stuff often. Also can be good place to ask if looking for a tube/part that ceeway is out of stock on. But theres just so much bollocks it can be hard to filter out .

Now, that is special.... Whoever 'built' it should be condemned to ride their own creation for eternity in heavy traffic, using their carefully chosen foot retention and braking systems.

My best find yet. Previously a Giant Trinity.
How the hell do you go bankrupt as a framebuilder?
His workshop is in his home, can you really get into enough debt buying tubes and gas to justify it?
