This is perfectly nice. Is the rear brake not cabled/hosed?

Can just see it coming from the top tube.

There's a quote that I've heard attributed to Fred Dibnah along the lines of 'You can tell good engineering because it'll look like it should work.'
Marin full-sus mtbs consistently violate that principle:

For anyone who was interested, I tried the technique with the rotating coat hanger/steel wool, couldn't really get it to work at all. I think my dremel just has nowhere near enough torque. Others might have more luck with it. Went at it with a round file instead as it was pretty rusty in there.

Did the Dremel just not make it spin very fast? I can imagine that.
-

Either not able to spin at all (which I think is probably very bad for the motor), too slow, or not enough pressure to actually do any damage.
Like I say I think it might be alright with a drill perhaps. My dremel was £20 or something stupid.

You can get a pretty beefy drill for 20 quid. Everyone needs one in their life. It's part of growing up. Mine must be ten years old and still going strong. Bit like this...
Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/322437517303 -

Although when you really grow up, you get a compressor and a pneumatic die grinder for jobs like this, then you can roll your own flap wheel using some emery cloth and a rod with a slot in it. The target is high speed and low pressure, a drill is painfully slow for cleaning jobs.

I've never needed one until now (and let's be honest I don't really need one now). In fact I think the temptation to start drilling random holes in the doors and walls of my rented flat is a very good reason not to get one.

Yes it sounds like your dremel was just a bit shit. A decent 'entry level' drill is about £150, including batteries and charger.

Oi, that's the description most give of me. I in no way have bandlebars.

That BIN price would be optimistic even with the decimal point one place to the left.

Dremel has lots of speed for doing small polishing/cutting jobs but not enough torque for anything bigger, you would indeed be damaging it if you kept trying.
For tube cleaning duties a decent drill or impact driver will be plenty, but you could also easily do it with a bit of steel wool on the end of a stick and some rustol.

Not sure if this qualifies as anti (or is a repost)
