What is the actual point?
To give this bloke a more aero position:

Hmmmm? I imagine this will divide opinions. Thumbs down from me though.

The paint is a bit Marmite, but the spec is pure porn

Everything is making me want a SS 29r. AARRGH!

Doesn't a lot of anti-porn involve ugly frames with nice components?

I was about to post up the bargain that is the Cannondale ss 29er to tempt you further. It doesn't belong here though.

Standard Carve paint is a bit fussy too, maybe they should offer a nice S-Works version in plain black

I've not used a split shell EBB before. Is that really a good idea on an aluminium frame?
Considering how some people confuse allen keys with gym equipment.
-
• #26110
We use aluminium split clamps to connect stems to steerers and nobody seems to wailing and gnashing their teeth. If it's designed right and used right, I'm sure it's fine.

Fair point. I suppose the ham fisted will destroy these things regardless. My thought was that the problem could arise from the high torque used around that area of the bike. Crank/chainring bolts, bottom brackets, pedals..
I seem to remember reading somewhere that set screw EBBs were best used in steel frames, as alu or ti frames had a higher likelihood of deforming if overtightened. Don't know how much truth there is in that. Perhaps split shells are better suited to those materials.

Maybe works for him, but red spokes can still pffft >
-
• #26123
Ha. I didn't notice them. couldn't look away from the stem.
-
• #26124
just jokes, was referring exclusively to spokes, as in:
These red spokes are the only weird thing about my bike, but I'm unwilling to use any other options. They just work better for me. -
• #26125
I see. That'll probably be his answer if you asked about them.
What is the actual point.
Is it a tricep-masher?
