Freewheel. No BB drop, actually a bit of a rise because the small 451mm wheels.

How do you even get a halflink slack? I mean. could it be any easier.

Halflinks can be run amazingly slack without coming off - I've had mine bouncing off the chainstay with still no hints of coming off. They also 'stretch' quite a lot from my experience. In a year of riding the wheel had to be moved back 1" to take up the slack.

That's a TA triple too - well over £100s worth if it's in good nick. Legendary cyclotouriste chainset and proper touring frame reduced to the level of 'ugly fashion-fixie' - which makes it all the worse.

I've seen a couple of bikes in the last 24 hours that I felt needed to get posted on this forum - thing is, they have confused and bebaffled me so much I really wasn't sure which thread to post them in.
