gitane just looks like an up market version of visp type frames to me.

I came here to post that. Utterly rank. The premise is foolish as well - a Schlumpf up front and a Sturmey Archer in the rear to make it a '4 Gear Single Speed'.

While I don't personally like the bike I think it's quite a clever notion. The more common way to do it is Schlumpf + AW3 which gives quite a wide range, works in a track frame and avoids evil dangly things.

^^^ Mash is a longer stem and a more standard front wheel away from being absolutely brilliant.

Those Mike Burrows wheels are by far the ugliest bit of bike componentry (that has some level of aesthetic fetishisation around them) I have ever seen. They look like a kids drawing of a wheel.

Like they cared, they knew it was tasteless as fuck when they got the commission surely?
They've done a good job so no doubt were paid handsomely for their time.
