So does Obree's bike;
Isn't that the one he did all the training on then took to the track to do the record and realised it was completely unrideable on a track. The fool.

Obree spent a year and a half training on the bike which worked brilliantly on the road....
But when Obree took to Manchester’s velodrome for a trial run in August it went badly wrong. Watched by former national British cycling coach Doug Daley, Obree’s bike proved useless.
“That whole riding style that I was reliant on to support your arms didn’t work on the bankings. And most of it is banking, let’s face it!” said Obree.
From BR so take from that what you will.

Tx! Dumb design process indeed :/

Edison famously said after a thousand failure attempt to make a light bulb, that he simply found a thousand ways of how not to build a light bulb.
Reckon Graeme found a way of how not to design an hour bike.
I'd hardly said it's dumb as it appear to work pretty well on the road, just unfortunately doesn't translate well on the track.

If it was designed for track use, it would have been clever to have given it a spin round the boards before spending a lot of time training on it on the road.

Was he planning to do his attempt on the open road then? If not he could have tested his position riding at a track on some kind of testing mule.

But road use for training was only a small part of the bikes intended purpose. The main part being use on the track, for which it's no use.
