  • MT's defo my hero now

  • Here is a cup. Shake my hand

  • Style AND practical, the utility kilt really does it all folks...

  • in any case, the fact that this picture was found, despite being posted in wrong thread, deserves some solid REPPPP

  • You should go back to the school of chill out.

    Sick burn!

  • So this Andypancake magnet didn't go to metallurgy school, aero school or, it would seem, rendering school.

Is there an entire school dedicated to ripping off Nissan's GTR logo?

Thanks! I appreciate the rep. But no I did not go to that school either.

The "R" is actually from the Achen font book, with some tweaking. Yes I was inspired by the GTR logo, back in 2009 when I designed the 14R logo (when it was first released) I had to work with the 14 Bike Co logo (Which I designed too). I have owned a couple of GTR's and have always been in awe of Japan...

This forum has become like a school lately...

  • As I said, your style has yet to be proven...

    repped:D

  • To my mins its something like this.

14Bike Co make some very nice bikes, very well made, with though put into the product rather than just another generic frame.

I really like the 853, because its different, and they havent gone down the same route as everybody else - the market isnt pro track racers.

I like the fact its steel because i can strip it and re paint it, or leave it raw, if i crash it, i can repair it.

I also think it looks fucking badass

  • oh i beg to differ...

Isn't that the bloke who had the anti-Pisti spoke cards made up for the trade show a few years ago?

  • I realised my comment is pretty vague.

its the first step, acknowledgement. well done ed.

The truth of the matter is that cheap 4130 Cr Mo is plenty strong enough for a track frame, and making it in ⅛" over the old 1930s standard tube diameters will make it stiff enough for anybody who can't put out over 2kW in a sprint. The thing that nobody has ever got close to with steel is combining stiffness and aerodynamics to the degree that carbon fibre frame makers can, which is why all elite track riders use carbon fibre frames.

If you actually think those 'teardrop' 853 tubes represent any kind of aerodynamic benefit over round tubes, you need to go back to aerodynamics school too. For all your bluster about 20 years of genuine technological advances being all marketing, the actual facts point to so-called 'aero' steel tubing being the thing which has the greatest excess of hype over substance.

haha you are such a loser. chill out.

  • I have 14 frame its great, I don't much like the way the 14R looks. Is there much more to say on this topic?

  • does it really matter about what its made of and blah blah blah.
surely if someone wants to ride it then let them ride it. let them get onto it

  • its the first step, acknowledgement. well done ed.

haha you are such a loser. chill out.

While I may not agree with Tester's methods or sometimes his attitude, if knowledge makes you a loser, I'd rather be a loser.

  • It's possible to be knowledgeable without a load of dick waving over who's got the most knowledge.

  • That is true.

  • That's not the attitude we take at work.

  • I always lay things out on the table.

  • LOLz

  • I always lay things out on the table.

Can Nurseholliday see over the table?

  • We used to work side by side.
Side by side, these things are easier to compare.

  • O rly?

Considerably cheaper than your 853 frame.

would it be sacrilege to use that as a commuter bike?

  • Isn't that the bloke who had the anti-Pisti spoke cards made up for the trade show a few years ago?

    Don Walker ?

Don't think so, he's twice the size of that bloke in the kilt.

  • would it be sacrilege to use that as a commuter bike?

    eei did
